>
> Well, I didn’t really start this thread to talk about my Texas Rock band from 20 years ago, but I’m probably a little more vain than the next person, and lack control. This might clear that up a little…
>
> Or, it might make you wonder why you’d ever agree with someone who would play on such a thing! I hope it doesn’t make us disagree more often. Spoilered for NSWF language, content, dueling guitar solos, and eventually triple guitar solos. You have certainly been warned.

> I’m the rhythm guitar in the middle that doesn’t solo until the outro. Yep, three guitarists. Me, one that I mostly taught what I knew at that time, the other was an uncontrollable force that had his guitar tuned to an open E and he just went. We were kind of like .38 Special short a drummer and any interest in the major scale :).

> I don’t think either of us were in Sodom and Gomorrah Liberation Front :).

> And now, we’ve devolved to talking about the Denton music scene. The last I checked, it still made Austin look like a bunch of well-adjusted adults trying to make it in the music industry!

Hey I was in Sodom and Gomorrah Liberation Front… Who’s talkin’ about us???

ZZ Top is the best band that has ever come from Texas.

IMHO I love those guys.

And gee, I thought The Zombies were an English Band.

Hehehe, Texas musicians never become zombies, they just smell like 'em! (zombies smell like stale beer, right?)

They have lots of competition, but they acquit themselves very well. Anything pre-_Eliminator_ will force me to turn it up. If I hear “I Heard it on the X” or “Just Got Paid”, I compare every guitar riff I hear for days to them. Few hold up to their sheer coolness.

Wow, did I leave that poll open forever? Are people still voting?

If so, I’m a dingbat, but it’s neat if that’s the case.

Well, 10 years ago I was meeting ex-Dentonites, who I didn’t know yet, who knew who you were. So…you guys were metal…seriously metal…people talk about that.

But me, I’m the portly guitarist formerly with long hair, formerly in DDA. Now appearing with The Apehangars on bass! Shorter, portlier, more hair in all the wrong places, and still not professional enough for the “big time”. If that’s not enough clues to blow my cover, PM me!
