God help me, but I love [Cow Christmas](http://www.amazon.com/Its-Cow-Christmas-Various-Artists/dp/B00000DWXM/sr=1-1/qid=1162398079/ref=sr_1_1/002-4642951-1696030?ie=UTF8&s=music). Christmas songs chock full of bovine puns left and right.

Mooo, moo-moo moo-moo-moo, moo-moo moo-moo-moo, moo-moo moo-moo-moooo-oooooo
(Sung to “Glo-o-o-o-o-ria in excelsis Deo” in “Angels We Have Heard on High”)

Very joyful female vocal group. Some cheesy numbers are in there, as I suppose exist in every Christmas album, but this one is my favorite.

ACK! Curse you all.

My favorite Christmas album when I was a kid (late 70’s) was The Partridge Family Christmas album. I loved their version of Jingle Bells. Now, thanks to you all (and the reason I curse you), I have that song playing over and over in my head.

Ironically enough, I was never a fan of either their show or their regular music.

Nowadays I can’t get into the Christmas sprit without a sprinkling of Elvis and a dash of Jimmy Buffett. Gary Hoey and the Trans Siberian Orchestra have helped lately, too.

_The Ventures’ Christmas Album_ (obviously by the Ventures), from 1965, has always been a favorite of mine. You’ve got to love intrumental surf rock Christmas songs. Their 2002 followup, _Christmas Joy,_ wasn’t so hot (though it’s not terrible).

Tradition in my family for at least 20 years running dicates that we listen to _A Muppet Christmas_ and _Star Wars: Christmas in the Stars_.

What? At least _I_ know what to get a Wookiee for Christmas.

Completely agree that it is my favorite as well, to the extent that “Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow” is part of my exercise playlist on ye olde IPod. I’ll sing along to this even in the heat of July.

But what I really came in to post was “Snoopy vs. the Red Baron” by the Royal Guardsmen. Possibly not technically a Christmas album, but there are some Christmas songs on it, and I used to love hauling it out of Mom’s LP stash every year around the holidays.
[/QUOTE]
Yeah, “Snoopy’s Christmas” is a good song.

I was raised on the MTC Christmas albums (no Mormons in the family, oddly) and it’s not xmas to me without the MTC.

Why are all the google ads for Lord of the Rings merchandise?

Oh, _man_. When I was a kid, my Dad would play \*\*Boney M’s Christmas Album \*\* _all the time_. Now it just isn’t Christmas without it.

Dad, big Christmas fan that he is, would often make his own holiday compilations, and they must include, if we’re going to have _any_ sort of happy holiday at _all_, these songs:

The theme from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
Selections from the Nutcracker
My mother’s favourite Mariah Carey Christmas song - something about “All I Want For Christmas Is You” - it’s really boppy, and though I’m no fan of Mariah, it reminds me of how happy my mother gets when she hears that song, so it’s all good.
Random Chipmunks Christmas songs
Smurf Christmas songs from ancient 45s
Oi to the World - Dad likes the No Doubt version, I prefer the Vandals, of course
And it would be _utter_ sacriledge to not include “(Let’s Have) A Patrick Swayze Christmas” by Crow T. Robot.

Some other bits of soundtracks to check out:

“Frosty the Snowman” from _Jack Frost_ - silly movie but that song smokes!
“Winter Wonderland” from _When Harry Met Sally_ - thumping piano instrumental by Harry Connick, Jr.
