Honestly, I rather like the scene from Gran Torino, where he’s standing on his front porch and says “Get off my lawn,” and points his M1 Garand at the gang kids. ---

One of the middle Dirty Harry films, I don’t remember which one (Magnum Force? The Enforcer?) his catch phrase was “swell.” I use it all the time. Usually elicits a quizzical look from middle-agers like me, a smile from old timers, and a “WTF?” look from the youngsters. Always cracks me up. ---

Unforgiven is a better movie with some damn good quotes and throw off lines, they’ve been mentioned here, but this one is pithier and more enjoyable. “We’ve all got it coming” from Unforgiven is just too depressing. ---

_The Good, the Bad and the Ugly_ is definitely the favorite movie of my 8-year old son. And, although I’m old enough to be his grandfather, it’s one of my favorite movies too. His favorite quote is “If you wanna talk, talk. If you wanna shoot, shoot.” My favorite quote might be from _Dirty Harry_: "I know what you’re thinking, did he fire five shots or six? Well, in all that confusion, I kind of lost track myself. So what you have to ask yourself is, ‘am I feeling lucky?’ " (The line occurs near both beginning and end of movie, with both criminals guessing wrong.) ---

I don’t remember the exact quote (I’m sure someone can correct me), but Blondie is talking to Angel-Eyes at the prisoner camp in TG,TB&TU Blondie: Aren’t you going to rough me up to make me talk, like you did to Tuco? Angel-Eyes: Would it work? Blondie: No, probably not. ---

The “Dirty Harry” movie “The Enforcer” where he is teamed with a female officer Kate Moore (Tyne Daly). To get information, he takes her into some black militant group. Dirty Harry “We are going into a chapter of the VFW”. Kate Moore “VFW??” Dirty Harry “Very Few Whites” followed by the leader of the black militant group saying “Callahn, I’ll talk to you in the back room. But you have to leave your partner in the front. Don’t worry, my men will take care of her.” Dirty Harry “Why, thank you, that’s mighty white of you”. ---
