What are your top 10 favorite computer games, and why?
Mine are:
1. Fallout
2. Crusader: No Remorse
3. System Shock
4. Crusader: No Regret
5. Fallout 2
6. Daggerfall
7. System Shock 2
I’ll think of the other 3 and the reasons why I like them later, when I’m sober.

#1 is Counterstrike, a multiplayer mod for Half-Life.
#2 is Starcraft w/ Brood War. That game just never gets old.
#3 is Worms: Armageddon. It just plain rules.

Hmm I don’t have much time for games between work and class and my overly controlling girlfriend but when I do get the chance to break away it is usually by playing
1. Grand Theft Auto
2. Age of Empires
3. Revenant
4. Quake
5. [Allgolf.com](http://Allgolf.com) World Tour Golfing (completely free and completely kick ass well for golf anyways)

1. Master of Magic - it’s from 1995, and I probably play it more than all my other games put together.
2. Asheron’s Call - I let my account go some months ago (and am really regretting it considering recent events in the game) but when I had it I played it a lot.
I really can’t go any further than that, there are no other PC games I’ve had recently that I have played as much as these. I can do honorable mentions, though…
Master of Orion 2 - made by the same company that did Master of Magic, and it has quite a few things in common. My problem with it is in the endgame, the game gets terribly slow when you have 50 or more colonies to manage and space battles involve hundreds of ships, meaning they can take hours to resolve. The game is quite fun if I can manage to win before it gets that far, and those problems are lessened if I play it with a small universe. Damn good game, regardless.
Deus Ex - I loved this game until the last level, where it suddenly got several times harder than any part up until then and I got frustrated and gave up. Haven’t played it since, but up until then it gave me a lot of enjoyment.
Crimson Skies - Everything about this game was nearly perfect. The setting and atmosphere was interesting and fun - it’s set in an alternate universe where the U.S.A. fractured into about 20 independent nations in the 1930s and you are an air pirate. The graphics are beautiful, the gameplay varied and challenging (though not frustratingly so), you can design your own customized airplanes, the controls are simple, it’s definitely not realistic enough to be a flight sim but there are enough realistic touches that you have the feeling of flight. Yet I haven’t touched it since I beat it, except to show off it’s graphics to friends.
Baldur’s Gate 2 - far superior to the first one, that bored me to death. An interesting story, fun characters, huge world with tons of quests yet it never got confusing. I helped my wife play through this one, now that she is finished I don’t really have any desire to complete the game with my own party.
Wizards and Warriors - when I first bought this game, I was very disappointed, did NOT like it, tried to play it a few hours and then put it away. Months later, I decided to give it a try again, and this time it clicked. This is a damn good old school RPG ala Wizardry (in fact, it’s made by the same guy). I haven’t played it lately though, since I am stuck in a part of a dungeon surrounded by monsters I just can’t seem to kill. Sometime when I am bored I will try again, though.

Hmmmm… to pick (keeping in mind that I now have a video card that will not let me really enjoy some of them)…

#6: what? #5 isn’t a game?? Damn!
#5: Quake 2
#6: Need for Speed 4
#7: Age of Empires 2
That’s about it at the moment… I live in Korea, and it’s hard to get hold of some of the latest games here (weird: some games are released here at the same time as in the states, or near enough so as not to matter… while other games simply are NOT released here at all! Starfleet Command was never released here, for example…)

Really? I found the exact opposite. By the endgame I was so overpowered with all my augs of godlike power that it was hard to go wrong. Early on if I screwed up my stealth I died, at the end if I screwed up my stealth I muttered a half-hearted “bugger” and destroyed every living (and robotic) thing in my field of vision. Made it much less enjoyable. Plus there was no more story left to tantalise me. Still a great game though.
Anywho, I can’t really name 10 favourite games. I could say my 10 favourite right at this second, but they change all the time, mainly cause games rarely last a long time. Play 'em, do everything or get bored, chuck 'em in a drawer and leave them there.
The only possible exception would be ZAngband. Damn addictive. I think I’ll be playing that on and off for a very long time (currently off due to my level 30 Hobbit Ranger dying a couple of days ago :)).

Astroboy: If you liked Starfleet Command, give Klingon Academy a whirl. Very, very, nicely done. They fixed nearly everything wrong with SC.
These aren’t in any order by the way, they’re just the top ten games I find myself coming back to, over the years:
1. Thief Gold
2. Battletech: Crescent Hawk’s Inception
3. Pool of Radiance
4. Pirates!
5. Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries
6. Hellfire (Diablo 1 Expansion)
7. Tyrian
8. Final Fight/Streets of Rage 2 (so similar I just lump’em together)
9. Deus Ex
10. Samurai Showdown
Quite a number of other games too, but those are the ones I either still play, years after they came out, or remember so fondly that I can’t overlook them.

Freecell (sheer mindless addiction)

Diablo (beautiful graphics, sound, seamless installation)
Duke Nukem 3D (sheer carnage)
Baldur’s Gate (party of individuals)
Halflife (great story, very smooth game)
