The corollary to [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=317611). We’re looking for characters that lasted a little while, not single commercials (barring Hootie’s BK commercial from consideration). There’s a lot of hate for Quizno’s Spongmonkeys and the more recent Burger King, who now shows up on Leno, most likely because they were absurd and kind of creepy. But dammit, I like absurd and kind of creepy things, and I like these two mascots. What else cracks you guys up? ---

Oddly enough, I like the spongemonkeys, but not the King. I’d have to say that Dorito’s girl from a few years back is my favorite though. ---

That new Burger King always amuses me. That first commercial he was in, standing outside the guy’s window first thing in the morning, drove me into hysterics. And still does. And I love the peanut M&M. The plain one’s not so funny, though. ---

I’m sure it’s a sign of an unsuccessful ad campaign that I can’t recall the product he promotes, but I adore that little migraine monster that runs around carrying a hammer. Way too cute to represent something so awful. ---

Scrubbing Bubbles have always been a favorite of mine. They work hard, so I don’t have to. That jingle worked like a charm on me, because I can guarantee you there is never a time that we don’t have at least 2 cans of Scrubbing Bubbles in our house. But, I think they might still be around so I guess they might not count. I’ve got some pictures of my sister and me as kids posing with Twinkie the Kid and Chauncey the Chocolate Alligator. They’re still both high on my list of favorites, even though I haven’t eaten a Twinkie or a Choco-Dile in like 15 years. I know Twinkie the Kid is still around (errr, I think he is anyway), but I haven’t seen Chauncey (or Choco-Diles for that matter) in ages. And who didn’t love the “Where’s the Beef?” lady? ---

I didn’t like the Burger King at first (the one where he shows up in the guy’s bed in the morning was just too creepy), but I do like the recent Star Wars tie-in ad where he and Darth Vadar meet in the doorway of the spaceship and just stand there staring at each other. Kinda like each one is waiting for the other to speak first. I also like the Sealy sheep. They’re cute. ---

I’m putting in a vote for the Sealy Sheep – but my favorite is probably the St. Pauli Girl – you know, just because. I also, as a child, had a stuffed Brontasaurus from Sinclair – I’ll always have a soft spot for him. I remember how sad I was when they sent him into retirement. That was actually a really sad commercial.
