Favorite ending to a song..

While a bit obscure, I always think the ending to ‘Revolt Into Style’ by Bill Nelson’s Red Noise is as powerful an ending to any song since ‘Substitute’ by the Who

(I love the end of Supper’s Ready too)

“The Ten Commandments of Love” by the Moonglows. But beware, the version I found on YouTube cuts the cool ending off.

And no mention of The Beatles “Her Majesty” yet?

I’ve always liked how The Beatles “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” just… stops.

The last two verses of Nellie McKay’s Identity Theft is a perfectly biting and witty way to end the song.

The end to Andrew Bird’s excellent Fake Palindromes finishes the weird train of thought with style.

The ending to One Day More from Les Miserables. If you’ve seen the show, you know what I am talking about.

Tomorrow we’ll discover
What our God in Heaven has in store!
One more dawn
One more day
One day more!

Queen’s breakdown at the end of ‘‘The Prophet’s Song.’’

And still I fear and still I dare not laugh at the madman!

I opened the thread to drop off a Beatles song too - specifically the ending to “The Ballad of John & Yoko” but I agree that the closing to “Happiness is a Warm Gun” is a belter too.

The end of “The Rain” by Oran “Juice” Jones has one of the funniest monologues ever. The gist of the song is that he caught his girlfriend cheating on him.

“My first impulse was to run up on you – and do a Rambo. I was about to jam you and flat-blast both of you, but I didn’t wanna mess with this $3700 lynx coat. So instead I chilled. That’s right, chilled.” I gets better after that.

The final line of “A man is in love” by “The Waterboys”. Very cute. Great final fiddle segment too.
