There have been tons of threads about the Simpsons, but not many Futurama threads. So… What’s your favorite episode? What are some of your favorite lines from the show? I was watching the evil Santa episode tonight, and I remembered what a good episode it was. Other favorites are the Roswell episode, and the one where Bender is a god. “Oh, a lesson in time travel etiquette from Mr. I’m-my-own-grandpa!” “And he wins in a quantum finish!” professor: “No fair! My sappy side loves “Jurassic Bark” and “Time keeps on slipping…” and something in me just about explodes every time I see the Giant Albino Shouting apes in the mothers day episode. “Bender: It was horrible! A nightmare! Fry: What happened? Bender: I dreamt I was in a place of 0’s and 1’s and all of a sudden… I saw a two _whimper_ Fry: It’s ok Bender, don’t worry. There’s no such thing as 2’s” Omicronians: “This concept of “wuv” confuses and infuriates us!” Bender: “Ahh, computer dating. It’s like pimpin, but you dont really have to use the phrase, ‘upside your head’” ---

I think my favorite episode is “The Devil’s Hands Are Idle Playthings” where Fry gets the robot devil’s hands and becomes a holophoner virtuoso. My favorite quote is from Bender’s speech at the end of “Bender Should Not Be Allowed on Television” where he’s lecturing parents on blaming television for being a bad influence on kids: “But did you ever try turning off the TV, sitting down with your kids… and hitting them?” Other great quotes: Fry: “Pssst! Leela, you gotta get me out of here; it’s horrible! Eating scraps, letting my waste drop wherever it falls like an animal in the zoo.” Leela: “Animals go in the corner.” Fry: “The corner!! Why didn’t I think of that?!” Bender: “You seem a tad wound up, buddy. And your face is greasy. Real greasy. You’ve been up all night?” Fry: “Of course I’ve been up all night! Not because of caffeine, it was insomnia. I couldn’t stop thinking about coffee. I need a nap.” _snores_ “Coffee time!” Bender: _gets cigar out_ “Ah, mighty fine smokable.” Fry: “Fancy cigar. The first Xmas episode is one of my favourites - John Goodman as the evil robot Santa was a perfect bit of casting. Leela: “We’ll leave milk and cookies out for you every Xmas” Santa: “You dare bribe Santa? Very naughty indeed!” and “Your mistletoe is no match for my TOW missile!” Unlike The Simpsons, I honestly can’t think of a bad episode of Futurama though. I loved every one, even Jurassic Bark. ---

My favorite episode is the one where Fry dies saving Leela from the sting of the alien queen bee. Is that “The Sting?” It’s everything I like about _Futurama_: cynical and sappy all in the same episode. Or else it’s the one with the Space Harlem Globetrotters. That’s just got too many brilliant moments to count. (Another favorite moment is at the end of the episode where we see Leela’s parents looking out for her all through her childhood, to the tune of “Baby Love Child” by Pizzicato Five. It gets me right here ::sniff:🙂 Favorite quotes: Dr. Farnsworth: Good news! It’s a suppository! Fry: That’s right! I did do the nasty in the pasty! Nibblonian: Correct! I’m kinda sleepy, so I may be remembering this incorrectly, but here goes: Bender: “I can bend a girder to any angle. 33 degrees. 31 degrees. . . 32 . . .” Fry: “Why am I sticky and naked? Did I miss something fun?” (When he reformed from some space honey.) I love that Bender likes turtles because they both get stuck if they fall on their back. I don’t know what my favorite episode is. Maybe the one where Fry trades hands with the Robot Devil. ---
