It’s been a while since i watched my Invader Zim DVD’s, so i popped a couple in, i forgot how delightfully insane GIR was… some of my favorite [nonsensical GIR non-sequiters…](http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Invader_Zim) from the pilot episode; “Can i be a Mongoose-Dog?” “Attack of the Saucer-Morons” GIR: Hi! Zim: Finally! GIR, I need your help. I’ve been captured! GIR: YAY!!! Zim: No, that’s bad GIR! GIR: YAY!!! Zim: I need you to listen very, very, very, very, very, very, very carefully. GIR: [drinking a soda] What? from “Megadoomer”, the Megadoomer is standing in a pile of packing peanuts, GIR takes one look at it… "\ it’s got Chiiiicken leeeegs! (and goes to hug the MD’s foot) Tak, the Hideous New Girl; Zim; i attached a tracking device to you, Dib… [Dib turns around to reveal GIR clinging to his head, acting as a tracking device.] GIR: Your head smells like a puppy! Gir goes Crazy and Stuff; GIR; Doo-de-doo-de-doo…WAFFLES!!! what are your favorites? ---

dude, Gir needs to have his own freakin’ show. my favorite is one of the very first episodes; Zim is all going off about how a bunch of kids are coming over and they’ll discover his secret laboratory and blah blah blah and GIR, do you REALIZE what this MEANS, we’ll be RUINEDDDDDDDDDDDD!!! (or something like that) Gir: _pauses_ aw, man! _stirs cake batter furiously_ …I do not know why, but it kills me every time. ---

I love them gooooood. \*\*Jakeline \*\*and I are fairly recent converts to the joys of Zim, and we have the DVD collection with the house with GIR in service mode inside. Zim: GIR, something is broken and it’s not your fault? GIR: I’m scared too! Zim rattles off a list of demands to the tallest. GIR: And a clown with no head! Something else is said. GIR: HEADLESSS CLOWN! HEADLESS CLOWN! GIR sees Dib. GIR: WHY IS HIS HEAD SO BIG? WHY IS HIS HEAD SO BIG? GIR stops being crazy and ends up on the floor. GIR: Hello Floor! Make me a sammich! GIR: I like destruction! _Ting_ Kicks a nearby can. GIR: I was the turkey all along! Zim: I was wondering what that turkey was doing there. GIR: I MADE MASHED POTATOS! Zims: And Muffins… Let’s face it. Almost everything out of GIR’s mouth is gold. Even the vomit. That’s why America loves GIR. ---

Oh, and I forgot. Invasion of the Saucer Morons. GIR is piloting a robot that looks like an MIB and has come to rescue Zim. MIB GIR: Hello. I am government man. I am from the Government. _takes a look at Zim_ MIB GIR: This not an alien. It is an experimental government aircraft. UFO wierdo: That? An aircraft? What about the pig? MIB GIR: That’s a government pig. ---

Here’s another one, more visual than anything, forgot the episode name… GIR and Gaz are riding an elevator into the base, Gaz is her usual grumpy self, Gir turns to look at her, his eyes extend slightly and he gets this _GINORMOUS_ grin on his face, and vocalizes a quiet “eeeeEEEE!” noise, Gaz turns, fixes him with the Stare-O-Death and growls, GIR looks away, for a few seconds, but looks at her and eeeeEEEE!'s again another one, GIR is playing with his remote controlled octopus, Zim rants at him for some reason, GIR pauses, grabs his RC octopus and eats it in one huge bite, then giggles “Rise of the Zitboy” GIR orders some pizza, begins to messily eat it, more ends up _on_ him than _in_ him, after hugging Zim (and smearing cheese all over him in the process), Zim gets a zit from the cheese, and sees an Acne Blast commercial, “I must obtain Acne Blast” GIR; I got some riiight heeere! \ **Author:** ![jakeline](https://avatars.discourse-cdn.com/v4/letter/j/a8b319/32.png) [@jakeline](https://boards.straightdope.com/u/jakeline)\ **Post date:** [March 10, 2006, 6:01am UTC](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/favorite-gir-isms-invader-zim/347793/11 "2006-03-10T06:01:30Z") This is later from the megadoomer episode: “Chicken! I’m gonna eat you!” There are also two awesome ones from when GIR becomes the brain of the house: “But I neeeeeed tacos! I need them or I will explode! That happens to me sometimes.” And I might be remembering this wrong, but in that same episode, GIR is the house, and he rears up looking rather like a horse, and shouts his battlecry: “Buuuurrriiiitoooos!” ---

another couple classics from “Bad, Bad Rubber Piggy” as an Irken Hunter-Destroyer machine is being sent by Zim through a Starga…errr…“Space-Time-Object Replacement Device” (STORD) G; Wait…if you destroyed Dib in the past, then he won’t ever be your enemy, so you won’t have back to destroy him then he _will_ \ be your enemy, so thenyou _will_ have to send a robot back… \ near the end of the Ep, GIR hands Zim the last of the rubber piggies, as MegaBoy 3000-Dib rampages above in Zim’s house Zim; Only one left, NOOOOO!!! GIR; YAAAY, we’re DOOMED!!! ---

From Plague of Babies. GIR’s stupidity, amplified by the generator, has just saved ZIM and the earth from evil space babies. GIR: Awww…I wanted to explode. From Room with a Moose. GIR(as the school annoucement system): Attention, all childern are invited to go on a field trip, which will take them to a place made entirely out of foooooood. And of course, whenever GIR activates “Defensive Mode”. ---

The lines from the “Say moosey fate!” scene used to be the windows shutdown noise on my old win2k machine. I love that episode. Most of my favourite Gir-lines have already been pointed out, but I’ve got a couple more… From “Rise of the Zit-Boy” Zim: WHY is there BACON in this SOAP? Gir: I made it mah-self! And I can’t remember the name of the episode (I still don’t have the 3rd volume yet, and I think it’s on that one), but it’s the episode where Gir becomes smart and dangerous, and Zim swaps a policeman’s brain with that of a squid. At the end of the episode, after Zim’s taken away Gir’s smarts, they go to release squid-man into the ocean… Gir (staring off into the sunset as squidman swims out to sea): He’s gonna get eaten by a shark. ---
