As an offshoot from [Your favorite Youtube video (new thread)](http://208.100.26.199/sdmb/showthread.php?p=8711639#post8711639) how about those videos that highlight great moments and artists from the world of Jazz or your favorite genre? As a start into some that have impressed me for either their historical significance or their excellence in musical performance (hopefully both) check out: [Michel Petrucciani](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgHNbS3211w) [Pat Metheny](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn3zIBBmXiU) [Chet Baker](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p82hH8oVBhA) [Miles Davis & John Coltrane](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4FAKRpUCYY) [Chico Hamilton](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuVKDBLcs0o) If you’re impressed by the clips I’ve selected, either for the artist or the tune, be sure to explore the sidebar clips available at the links. And post some of your own favorite music clips. ---

For all those who were baffled by the [Laura Nyro thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=421598&highlight=laura+nyro) I started several weeks ago (“Laura WHAAA?”), here’s a [link to a wonderful 2 1/2 minute perf](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jjdowef1oKE) of “Save the Country” from 1969. ---

[Warren Wolf Jr.](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3xAVaMy0K0) Some of the most beautiful vibes playing I have heard…and this looks like its from a real rinky dink gig Also the drummer left his snare one resulting in some brutal buzz, but its still so fantastic… ---

You know it’s good jazz when you hear laid-back males in the audience go “…Yeah!”. I really came to post the Coltrane/Davis-video in the OP. But I can also contribute with this rendition of Thelonius’ **Blue Monk** : [![]( " - YouTube") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmhP1RgbrrY) I love it. Bassist Larry Gales is especially stylish. ---

I realize this thread is a zombie, but rather than start a new one I’m gambling that this bump will serve the same purpose. I must have heard this tune before but just recently it has crawled into my soul and I must share it. Three versions even – if you have another please post it.
