Love this song. This is the first time I ever heard the original version, as the one I am most familiar with is the 311 cover. This song is forever locked for me in one moment in time. My one year wedding anniversary (2007) I was abroad in Mexico teaching English, going through the art shops to find a good art souvenir for my trip, very much missing my husband. At precisely the moment my eyes fell on a painting of two lovers embracing, that song came on the radio. I bought the painting, it is still hanging on my living room wall.

My current favorite love song is Hozier’s ‘‘[Work Song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upaI4D8gwfs).’’

Hmm… maybe [This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9gK2fOq4MY) by Talking Heads? (Although that video sounds a little harsh to my ears.)

I find Lennon’s elation/desperation on “Don’t Let Me Down” convincing. And on the other pole, “My Girl” seems more songcraft that actual emotion, but is also a favorite.
