Yes, we’ve done this before, but it’s always fun. My favorite, which I misheard for at least a decade, was the Beatles’ song, Take the Back Right Turn. (Real title: Paperback Writer) ---

There’s a Pogues song called “The Broad, Majestic Shannon,” which describes an idyllic morning on the banks of a river thusly: So I walked as day was dawning Where small birds sang and leaves were falling Where we once watched the row boats landing By the broad majestic Shannon Problem is, Shane MacGowan’s brogue is so thick, that when he says “row boats,” I always hear, “robots.” Which would be pretty freakin’ awesome, if you think about it. ---

For me The Cars “[The Dangerous Type](http://www.seeklyrics.com/lyrics/Cars/Dangerous-Type.html)” will always be “The Dangerous Dyke” which is the way I first heard it. and the Dire Straits “[Walk of Life](http://www.seeklyrics.com/lyrics/Dire-Straits/Walk-Of-Life.html)” will always be the “Walk on By” ---

I think it’s from Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”. I think the line is “Enter Light, into night”, or something like that. I hear “Engine Light, ain’t quite right”. ---

The family and I were out karaoke-ing a few weeks ago. One of the singers was doing Vanessa Williams’s _Colors of the Wind_, and the track was probably from one of the second-tier producers: _For whether we are white or copper-skinned_ became _Or whether we all like our copper skin._ ---
