I only remember the name: **Rotcoddam** and his assistant **Egoots**. I know they were on “Sinbad Jr.,” but I have almost no memory of it other than he tightened his belt for superpowers. (Trust me, it doesn’t work if you’re not a cartoon.) ---

No love for Doctor Heinz Doofenshmirtz? I mean technically he’s an “Evil” scientist, not mad, I mean he’s not angry, as such, except, you know, at Perry the Platypus, but not “mad” in the sense of angry, or insane… He’s just, you know, Evil! BEHOLD! THE VOTE FOR HEINZ-INATOR! ---

The Think Tank from _Fallout: New Vegas_’ _Old World Blues_. You have several scientists whose brains were removed, jarred, and put into floating robots, and in the intervening 200 years they became… odd: 1. The leader, arrogant but addled, who mixes concepts up, referring to fingers as “penises.” 2. The mute, perverted, acoustician. 3. The traumatized genetic engineer who tortured his animal best friend (for Science!). 4. The sexually suggestive female one. 5. The one with a serious, psychotic, inferiority complex. 6. Their enemy, the EEEVIL mad scientist, Who is actually the good guy trying to stop their insanity, and was on scifi meth when he made his radio pronouncements of world dominations. ---

I’d like to mention two from the Disney duck universe – **Gyro Gearloose** and **Ludwig von Drake**. Gyro (created by the legendary Carl Barks in 1952) is an inventor, and has appeared in the Disney comics, until Ducktales came along. He’s benign, and incredibly practical, and comes up with bizarre inventions, but there’s no evidence that he’s a deep thinker. He’s more a tinkerer. Ludwig von Drake was an animated character created for TV (he appeared in the first episode of Disney’s Wonderful World of Color, where he sand The Color Song) and voiced in his faux-Viennese accent by Paul Frees. They used him whenever they needed someone “brainy” to explain concepts in cartoons on the Disney TV show. Von Drake seems to be more a theorist and an academic – you usually don’t see him inventing things. He later showed up in the Disney comic books, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen him and Gearloose together in the same strip. A theorist and an experimentalist, they probably wouldn’t get along.
