Tool: Sober Tool: Prison Sex Aphex Twin: Come to Daddy Aphex Twin: Windowlicker Unfortunately, the animator for Sober and Prison Sex died in a car accident. The later Tool videos were a poor substitute. Come to Daddy by Aphex Twin is one of the most disturbing and visually appealing four minutes of video you will ever see. Windowlicker is a bit of a spoof of rap videos in the same style. WATCH COME TO DADDY. ---

wax, “southern california”- not a favorite, just giving the name. favorites- Heart-Shaped Box by Nirvana. anything directed by Spike Jonze (especially the Bjork one, can’t think of name) anything done by radiohead (just buy 7 Television Commercials), especially Street Spirit and Just anything directed my Michele Gondry (Everlong, most bjork) People, I can’t stress this enough. Go to the store now and purchase 7 Television Commercials, radiohead’s video compilation. These are some of the greatest visual to musical marriages I have ever seen. Plus, you get to see cartoon mermaid boobies, which MTV won’t allow. ---

The Bjork song is “It’s oh so quiet”. Human Behavior is great too. ---

When MTV first came on they would play Michael Nesmith’s Lucy, Ramona, and Sunset Sam. For its time it was by far the best produced. Being a former Monkee, He was likely one of the most knowledgeable of music video production at the time. I only saw the video once. But I like the old stuff. The cheeziness made it interesting and fun. Stone Temple Pilots parodied it on a video about 3 years ago. ---

I’ll chime in with the old timers and say that videos were better in the early days. I concur with Tom Petty, “Don’t Come Around Here No More” Kate Bush, “Cloudbusting” Any of the three that Derek Jarman did to Smiths songs. Radiohead, pretty well anything, but I really like “Fake Plastic Trees” Eurythmics, “Here Comes teh Rain Again” Verve, “Bittersweet Symphony” Bjork, “It’s Oh So Quiet”, especially the dancing mailbox. Can’t think of any others off the top. ---

I LOVE “Voices Carry” by 'Til Tuesday, even though the worst male actor ever was cast as Aimee Mann’s boyfriend. I’m surprised “Everybody Hurts” hasn’t been mentioned–I always thought “Losing my Religion” was a little pretentios and overrated, but I love “Everybody Hurts.” And “Big Bang, Baby” by Stone Temple Pilots–I love that video! ---

George Michael- “Freedom” Explosions, gorgeous babes. Michael Jackson- “Thriller,” “Billy Jean” Will always be some of the best videos ever made. Pearl Jam- “Evolution” Sick. And very fascinating. Sarah McLachlan- “Sweet Surrender” She’s just beautiful. Janet Jackson- “Love Would Never Do (Without You)” See above. Fat Boy Slim- “Praise You” Funny as hell. ---

A few oldies but goodies that I haven’t seen mentioned: “Twilight Zone” - Golden Earring “Owner of a Lonely Heart” - Yes “Hungry Like the Wolf” - Duran Duran “Undercover of the Night” - Rolling Stones (I think that’s the name of the song) ---

Well, most of my faves have already been mentioned, but here they are off the top of my head… Mary Jane’s Last Dance - Tom Petty. (Actually just about anything Petty does is good, but that one was especially good.) Losing my Religion - REM Mr. Krinkle - Primus Sober - Tool Happiness in Slavery - Nine Inch Nails (didn’t play on MTV, but an excellent video) Sledgehammer - Peter Gabriel (like Petty, all of his videos are good) Freak on a Leash - Korn Enjoy the Silence - Depeche Mode Money For Nothing - Dire Straits Sabotage - The Beastie Boys Smells Like Nirvana - Weird Al Once in a Lifetime - Talking Heads Walk This Way - Run DMC and Aerosmith Fields of Gold - Sting Sugarwater - Cibo Matto ---

I like everything by Weird Al. I like everything by Cheap Trick. “All the Small Things” by Blink 182 cracks me up. U2 videos, especially the early ones are great, such energy. Foo Fighters “Everlong”. That song is amazing anyway and then to have a cool video to go with it, I love it. Anything with Sting in it. 😃 I’m sure there’s a lot more I’m not thinking of. ---

Let me add a few more older videos:[ul] [li] **Jeremy** - Pearl Jam[/li][li] **Send Me an Angel** - Real Life[/li][li] **Let’s Dance** - David Bowie[/li][li] **In a Big Country** - Big Country[/li][/ul] ---
