Back in the '90s there was a fad of wearing hospital pants (“scrubs”) and crop tops. A black sports bra and light blue hospital pants was my outfit of choice after the gym or on my days off. One day years later my then-roommate told me that the top, even though it was black, was pretty much see-through.
Oops.
Like most business casual office drones, my wardrobe is mainly khakis with a solid color polo-style short sleeve shirt.
After an unfortunate trip to Best Buy after work where I was mistaken for an employee, I decided to mix it up and got a couple of shirts with plaid patterns.
First time wearing one, I walk in the front door and the receptionist says “Hey, I have dish towels in that pattern”. Also my last time wearing one.
Now it is just easier to avoid Best Buy.
Same thing here, only it was a red polo in Target. :smack:
Most of my work clothes (I work in a professional setting) are generally considered garish or hideous. The other day I wore my yellow bell bottom dress pants, brown platform shoes and my pink disco shirt. It was Friday, I didn’t have to wear a tie. I usually don’t go that far. Maybe a disco shirt with normal dress pants. The bell bottom dress pants with normal dress shirt.
Swoon.
