Libya, written “_Libiya_” in Arabic script, makes a remarkable graphic palindrome - ```auto | | | | | | | | | \/ \/ \/ \/ .. . .. ``` I do not know of a palindromic graphic pattern of such length and complexity in any other script of the world. If anyone could give a better example, that would be great. That it turned out to go with a country called Libya is just a coincidence. The name Libya comes from the ancient Berber language, centuries before Arabic script was invented. When I was in elementary school some girl (a 6th grader- oooh!) ran for student council president and her last name is Hannah. She gave a speech at an assembly and she had her last name written in capital letters on a piece of plexiglass. She ended the speech with something about how her name was the same backwards and forwards, and showed us by flipping the plexiglass over. It was SO COOL!!! Well I was in third grade at the time and I still remember it 19 years later so obviously I was impressed. So my favorite palindrome is HANNAH. ---

I always liked “Ungate me, Vic, I’ve met a gnu” for sheer crypticness. Or “evil olive”. And for those fond of the potty humour, one of my exes loved this one: Butt raft fart tub. _Ugh._ But my favourite is probably: I prefer pi. ---

aw man- Hannah’s already been mentioned. it’s my little sister’s name and my dad always used to call her “the little palindrome” other than that one, I’m rather fond of: Stressed? desserts!
