Since the thread was started, the post-apocalyptic graphic novel _Y: The Last Man_ (Brian Vaughan and Pia Guerra) was published; it’s in 10 parts, and talks about the aftermath of a plague in which all the men die. No idea how, or if, this relates to the Shelley book (which I actually didn’t know about until reading this thread). Anyway, I liked much of it quite a bit, and I know people who really adore it. My biggest problem was that the origin of the plague is never explained to my satisfaction, though I guess this is supposed to mimic real-life, or something. ---

Just to add some meat to the post. The book “Where Late The Sweet Bird Sings” has to be the worst book title/content combo ever. It has a lot about cloning to repopulate. I highly, highly recommend it. I think my favorite so far is “The Road” by Cormac McCarthy. Desperately depressing. I’m trying to remember the name of the book about a girl that could make things grow again. It was exceptional also. ---
