Oh I miss Wink! I loved Wink
You must be very old, Canfields has been making 50/50 since I was a kid, and that was in the 60’s.
Tahiti Treat was way better than Wink!
Peter Pan Peanut Butter seems to have disappeared recently. I used to like the salmon flavor.
Old el Paso taco sauce. I really liked that.
Skinny Cow sugar free chocolate peanut butter ice cream bars. They were so very rich and decadent, and now I cannot find them anywhere.
sobs
Raisin Biscuts.
I used to gobble up whole packages.
Now…they are consigned to the Twilight Zone.
It seems you misremember. I certainly recall buying products bearing the Graf’s label as an intern, in 1983. I recall Canfield carrying the 50/50 brand, too. But that was later.

I said Coke but I always drink Diet Coke, so the vanilla vodka works with Diet Coke, too.
Regular Coke is too sweet, it makes my teeth hurt
I have a fear that with the new Splenda craze, my old Diet Coke with Nutrasweet may go the way of many of the products mentioned in this thread. If that happens I won’t be drinking Diet Coke at all. I cannot stand Splenda.
Other posts in this thread reminded me of some of the things I miss:
Danish Go-Rounds, loved to eat them in that circular fashion.
PBMax … the peanut butter food of the gods. When I first got a membership to warehouse store I bought a huge box of them. I think I parted with one to give to a friend. Then they weren’t available anymore and I wish I had rationed mine out better. Everytime I see Reese’s try something new with peanut butter I hope they will come close to a PBMax, but I am always disappointed. sigh
It may not be in your local store, but Old El Paso is still in production.
Hardly an off brand when they had Barry “Greg Brady” Williams shilling for them! Barry remembers:
Shasta is still around, by the way. I met someone recently who works for them.
Phish Food…in my grocer’s aisle!
Yes, the yogurt one.
Taco Bell Bean Burrito kits. Coming home at night after a few drinks, I’d think they were the food of the gods.
Another cry for Vanilla Coke, specifically diet, in something other than cans. I think I’d buy it in the boxes like the cheap wine if that’s what it takes. I may try the syrup or vodka suggestions, though. Also, it occurs to me that a vanilla cola could probably be a profitable product for either Coke or Pepsi, but we the consumers are losing out to their competition.
Also, I wish I’d never opened this thread to learn there has ever been such goodness as Dulce de Leche M&Ms in this world.
If you have Fresh Market near you (gourmet grocery store, like Whole Foods but a little less expensive and hippie-ish), they sell a brand of peanut butter that comes in delicious dark chocolate and white chocolate varieties. My girlfriend loves the “Dark Chocolate Dreams” kind.
Ah, here is the peanut butter company’s official website with online store, and they also offer a cinnamon raisin swirl one and a hot spicy one (maybe good for Thai recipes?): http://ilovepeanutbutter.com/store/index.cfm?destination=darkchocolatedreams
Readily available at 7-11s everywhere here.
Are those the layered ones? I think you can still get them here, but I’d have to double-check. I’m not the candle buyer here.
I’ve been complaining for at least three years that Pop Tarts of all varieties have vanished from local shelves. I’m not even sure they’re available in Australia at all.
Dagnabbit - why can’t a girl get some Pop Tarts when she needs 'em?
I needs 'em!
The predominant grocery store chain in Florida, Publix, used to have this Apple Pie a la Mode kind of ice cream. It was vanilla with swirls of appley cinnamon goodness. I haven’t seen it in a couple years but I still look for it every time I go grocery shopping, just in case they decide to bring it back.
Speaking of Pop Tarts, I came in here to post for that reason. When I was in college in the mid-to-late 80s, my roommate and I would try all kinds of new products. One was Peanut Butter and Jelly Pop Tarts. There were like the current Smores ones where there were alternating internal strips of peanut butter and jelly. I believe the outside frosting was peanut butter flavored.
Also, around this time, we used to get microwaveable shakes. They were frozen shakes that you defrosted for a few seconds in the microwave until they were soft enough to stir.
And this is entirely regional, since it comes from “Edie’s” a restaurant in Lafayette, Louisiana (where I went to college), but they used to market their chicken pot pies in the local supermarkets. I would go back to Lafayette from time to time, just to load up on the chicken pot pies. As far as I know, Edie’s is still operating, but I can no longer find the pot pies in the supermarket.

By “off brand” i meant that generally they were considered a 3rd teir or below soda. Like their cola flavors would be after coke, pepsi, royal crown… almost a store brand.
