I loved them in high school, when all they had put out was Pablo Honey, The Bends and OK Computer. Then I kind of stopped listening for a while and wasn’t into the new direction they were going (Kid A was good, but I wasn’t so sure about Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief), but then they put out In Rainbows, which was awesome. And I didn’t even mind that I accidentally paid full price. It was a “pay what you want” thing and I was going to pay $5, but it turned out the website wanted British pounds, and 5 pounds was like $13 at the time. But it was such a great album I would have paid double that. Still one of their best, up there with The Bends and OK Computer.
I love In Rainbows, it doesn’t get the love of their earlier stuff but iys sooo good.
Let Down off of OK Computer is stunning in it’s use of voice as an instrument, especially in the last part of the song.
Climbing Up The Walls, also off of OKC, is an amazing song about meeting one’s own shadow.
Reckoner off of In Rainbows is so gorgeous.
Ok Computer spawned some great b-sides, including Polyethylene.
