According to “Schoolhouse Rock!: The Official Guide,” yes. They’re the same Tokens.

“I’m Just a Bill” is **clearly** the best Schoolhouse Rock song. I also enjoyed the Simpsons’ parody about the Constitutional Amendment. The only lines I remember are “Those hippies have too much freedom” and “If Ted Kennedy tries to fight back, I’ll say he’s gay.”

We used to listen to a Schoolhouse Rock album in the fourth grade during recess and whenever they sang the line “A man and a woman had a little baby” in “Three”, we all laughed like…a bunch of nine-year-olds.

Beat me to it. I own this CD, and my son has fallen asleep to that little gem many times. Too bad Shannon Hoon’s dead, huh.

I also like Skee-Lo’s version of “Mr. Morton” on that CD.

Conjunction Junction
&
Just a Bill
&
The Tale of Mr. Morton from the Schoolhouse Rock Rocks! CD (not the original) it is amazingly close to perfect.

I’ve also bought the the America Rock and Grammar Rock CDs (I keep meaning to buy the other two - but never get around to it…the only multiplication one that I remember liking was “Naughty Number Nine.”)

((& I also cannot think of the preamble without humming “insure domestic tranquility-ee-ee-eee”))

I saw a complete set of all of them packaged in a nice metal Schoolhouse Rock lunchbox at the bookstore…

And now, as an adult, I giggle when they say “Three is a magic number,” because it makes me thing of a menage-a-trois.

That has got to be the **worst** Schoolhouse Rock song they ever came up with. Not because it had boring lyrics or wasn’t a catchy tune, but because it is VERY VERY BAD HISTORY. They treated King George the Third as a bullying father figure, rather than as the simple bungling monarch he was. The lyrics stated that, once the colonists got their colonies started, “They wanted no more Mother England,” and _nothing could be further from the truth!_ What happened to salutory neglect? What happened to the French and Indian War? What happened to the LOYALISTS in the colonies who opposed independence?

Bleah.

Congrats! Only one registered user on that trivia board has gotten all 20, out of the 70 that have taken it.

What questions do you think is screwy. I can edit the questions if there are discrepancies.

On the first day of my Constitutional Law class in law school, the professor announced he would begin the semester by going through the Constitution section by section. He then innocently asked if anyone knew the preamble.

The entire class of 60+ people immediately broke out into a spontaneous rendition of “We the people” from Schoolhouse Rock.

The professor was quite surprised and amused.

Thank you, tracer. The whole damn AMERICA ROCK video bothers me (with the exception of “I’m Only a Bill” and that last one about the Division of Powers, which has that cool art by that British caricaturist whose name escapes me at the moment). I find it grossly politically incorrect…“Elbow room! Elbow room! Let’s slaughter some Cheyennes!”…and the depiction of King George is irritatingly WRONG.

AMERICA gets the lowest airplay in MY home; practically nil.

My vote for catchiest, and cutest animation, is one that hasn’t been mentioned yet:

**Lucky Seven Sampson,** the bunny rabbit who outfoxes a cop, a construction worker, and a fat guy, all while instructing us in our multiples of seven.

“Get your powder, get your gun, report to General Washington…”

Sorry, **Ike** and **tracer** , I love the “America” series the most. They came out around the time we were celebrating the Bicentannial. I confess I literally get tears in my eyes when I watch them, because I remember as a kid it was cool to be proud of America. I’m glad I didn’t know you guys when I was growing up, else I’d have known how Columbus was worse than Hitler, Washington and Jefferson really only wanted to become even richer (doubtless so they could rape even more slaves)…

…but thank the lack-of-god that my opinions don’t count for anything, since I’m a straight white male.
Boy, am I glad I read this thread… One more childhood joy blown down the tubes. Anybody want to buy my “America Rock” tape? \*\*Warning!\*\*It’s really just white male propaganda set to music.

Which also gave me my most used non-sung quote from the series: “Thank you very much for the huckleberry pie” which me & my family uses whenever taking food from one another. A close second is “Hooray! I’m for the other team” from the interjections one.

Now now, **Tygr** , there’s no evidence that Washington or Jefferson raped any of there slaves (although Jefferson may have had an affair with one).

Sheesh. You’re actin’ like it’s more important to be patriotic than it is to have an accurate knowledge of history.
