Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but all the Wiggum-talk in the Idioms and Expressions thread got me wondering who everyone’s favorite character on “The Simpsons” is? (very bad grammar, I know…) If you have read any of my posts, my answer is obvious, but I’d have to say Moe the bartender is a close second, then Snake (the criminal - “Dude, I am so outta here!”), Otto the bus driver, and Homer. All my favorites are the less intelligent ones. Ironic? Perhaps. Oh yeah, and I can’t forget about Comic Book Guy. The Wiggums are a favorite of mine. Also, Professor Frink and Gil the salesmen (who only had 5 payments left on the hot plate), even though both are pretty minor characters. ---

Ralph is one of my favorites, too (“my cat’s breath smells like catfood!”). My absolute favorite, though, has got to be Lisa. Something about her whole “trapped among idiots” gig speaks to me. All time favorite Simpson’s line. (Bart and Lisa at concert)—“Smell’s like Otto’s jacket!”) bella ---

First would have to be Mr. Burns. So many of his lines are classics. “Well, sir, many people see you as somewhat of an ogre.” “Bah! I’ll grind their bones to make my bread!” or “Schindler and I were very much alike! We both owned factories! We both made shells for the Nazis, but mine worked, damn it!” Second would have to be Dr. Nick. “Dr. Riviera, Dr. Nick Riviera, please report to the coroner.” “Oh geez, the coroner. I am so sick of that guy!” or “The bone’s connected to the red thing…the red thing’s connected to the blue thing…the blue thing’s connected to my wristwatch…uh oh.” and his famous tag line “Hi Everybody!” Third would go to Sideshow Bob, even though he doesn’t have that much air time. “You can’t keep the democrats out of the White House forever! And when they get in, I’m back on the streets! With all my criminal buddies!” and “You know that deep down you want a Republican in office. You know it because you want one to lower taxes, brutalize criminals and rule you like a king.” ---

pretty much all the minor characters, like Gill, Cletus, Comic Book Guy, Luigi, etc. they don’t get much screen time, but when they do, they’re damn funny! one of my fav lines of all time (and this is just from memory, obviously, so it’s probably a bit off) Lugi: Kruty, you sit in da back, not with-a the rest this scum (angy murmuring from the other customer) Luigi:I on-a-ly consider you scum-a comared to Krusty! (murmurs of agreement) Luigi: Yeah, you see how you scum. i hate to make this a quote-fest, but after previewing, i’ve gotta ad another favorite quote from the comic book guy (CBG became a fav character the second i heard him say this) Bart: I want to buy a copy of BoneStorm! Here’s 99 cents. CBG: (sigh) Allow me to summarize the proposed transaction. You wish to purchase BoneStorm for 99 cents. Net profit to me, _negative_ 59 dollars. (opens register) Oh, please!
