Far funnier than Hans or Church Lady was Dana Carvey’s “Grumpy Old Man”.

“In my day, we didn’t have ‘safety standards’. You could give a kid a Christmas toy and within ten minutes he’d be unconscious or bleeding from both eyes, and that’s the way it was and we _liked_ it! Because we were dumb rubes and we didn’t know any better.”
