Yup, I’m sure – it was definitely not Mr. Yuk; it was some kind of puppet or something, with a **smiley face**. Someone on [fuzzymemories.tv](http://fuzzymemories.tv) asked the same thing.

Nope…but thanks! (The face was closer to papier-mâché or something, not a fuzzy puppet…it was large, weird-looking and kind of tilted back and forth on a central axis.)

He was a guy in a suit and trenchcoat ( buzzcut haircut), who would parachute in from an airplane-usually he would land at some nitwit’s picnic-where the husband was berating his wife for having served stale sandwiches!
The Man would instruct the wife to pack the sandwiches in “Glad Bags”-this solved the problem-the man and wife would be p;roperly grateful, and the MFG would depart.
Weirdsand slightly creepy!

My favorite ad, ever. So good that Johnny Carson played it on the Tonight Show. The Stan Freberg boxed set has it and a bunch of others, including Ray Bradbury shilling for Sunsweet Pitted Prunes. And, not only was it the real Lone Ranger and Tonto, it was the real guy who did the Lark commercial, IIRC.

Others:

Here it comes, here it come,
Greatest thing you’ve ever seen
And its name is
Mr. Machine.

Odd, Og, half turtle and half frog.

And the Noczema take it off, take it all off, shaving cream commercial, done to Billy Rose’s “The Stripper.”

Anyone remember the Frito Bandito? He was around in the 60’s and 70’s and sang a catchy song?

I also had fun going back to Conjunction Junction and the educational commercials they played that stuck with me for life.

Okay, these aren’t commercials, but they aired during commercial breaks.

Especially those of you who grew up in the Chicago viewing area:

**SNIPETS!**

I remember seeing these things in the late '70s. Of course, the only one I actually remember was the one that showed you how to make a “Come Back Here!” – a coffee can converted into a toy that, when you roll it, it slows down, stops, and comes back to you. A lot of the Snipets shorts are up on [fuzzymemories.tv](http://fuzzymemories.tv), but sadly, nobody’s yet tracked down the “Come back here!” one…

The first commercial I really remember is for Liberty Mutual insurance, and it seems to me that there was more than one. They showed car accidents with a voiceover stating, “Liberty Mutual…the company that stands by you!”

This would have been about 1965 or so.

I remember a lot that have been already mentioned, but here’s one that hasn’t:

“Old Man Adams has gone sour!” for Adams sour gum, circa 1966.

And the Limelighters singing “Things Go Better With Coca-Cola” over footage of surfers, ca 1965.
