I often feel there is a generational thing with \*There’s Something About Mary \*and Ben Stiller. By the way, \*Some Like it Hot \*often comes up as the top comedy, I cannot comprehend this at all. It has some funny moments but there were funnier movies before it and many after it. Why do older critics love it so much? ---

**A Night at the Opera Airplane Kentucky Fried Movie Top Secret The Naked Gun Young Frankenstein Spaceballs A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum Cold Turkey Airplane 2 Arsenic and Old Lace who’s Minding the Mint? The Producers** (the original Gene Wilder/Zero Mostel version) I don’t care all that much for **Blazing Saddles**. Woody Allen’s older, funnier movies don’t hold up so well. I still like **What’s Up Tiger Lily?** , but not as much as I once did. I showed it to Pepper Mill and she hated it. She hated _Everything you Wanted to Know about Sex_, too. _There’s Something about Mary_ does nothing for me. ---

_ **My Cousin Vinny** _ But it has to be the uncut version, not the cleaned-up-for-TV version, largely because the F-bombs in the jail scene where Vinny first meets the other main characters makes the comedy and double meanings of that scene truly rich. Without that, the movie loses a lot of laughs. ---

Repeated viewing and many years dim the memory but I don’t think I have ever laugh as hard at a movie more than the Holy Grail. After that I would rank in order: Blazing Saddles Young Frankenstein A Night at the Opera Life of Brian My Favorite Year The Producers High Anxiety Annie Hall and out of nowhere…Kingpins ---
