Wilson Pickett’s cover of Hey Jude, backed by the Muscle Shoals band and Duane Allman. And Joe Cocker did a bunch of great Beatles covers. I’m not sure which one is the best, but I guess With A Little Help from My Friends is the easy choice. And Jimi Hendrix’s brief covers of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band are worth hearing. ---

[“That Means A Lot” cover by PJ Proby](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaHqS7wZ4hc) I don’t think The Beatles’ version was released until _Anthology 2_ in 1996.
