Recently I hired a new contractor to maintian our building’s sprinkler system. The technician assinged to us is a great guy: friendly, hard-working and honest. Late one of his co-workers told me he’d written [this song](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bt1io_Z2WOQ), which I’d remembered from heavy rotation on my college rock station in the late 70’s. He sold it for 300K, ran that through his arm, and then gotten cleaned up. ---

Mother’s Finest should have been more well known. One of my favorites: [Niggizz Can’t Sang Rock’n Roll](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pV97Te_PBI) ---

“I Could Be Good For You” by 707 reached #52 on Billboard charts in 1979, but 707 never made it big. [![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/_pr5GJ7nU30/hqdefault.jpg "707 - I Could Be Good For You - Midnight Special") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pr5GJ7nU30) ---

Far from obscure. ---

I wonder if that number kept growing the more that story got told. 3k might be more likely…that’s over a million dollars today. ---

I had a hard time choosing just one song from this album as the whole thing is spectacular, but I finally settled on [Come Alive](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UriTTJTL61o&list=PL44B765263D4EAEC3) from Allen/Lande. Some of the best melodic hard rock I’ve ever heard. [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/favourite-obscure-rock-songs/659337.md?page=3)
