They are both billionaires and have been friends of the Saudis. Just yesterday the Saudis were bragging about how they brought the US and Russia together to make the Griner exchange. It would be friends helping friends out, gives hope to other potential “friends” of the Saudis. ---

Instead, it concerns a case where the former President kept some recordings of interviews with author Taylor Branch in his sock drawer. The right wingnuts at Judicial Branch filed a lawsuit demanding release of the tapes, which was denied on the grounds that they were personal records unrelated to Clinton’s Presidential duties. ---

Judge Beryl Howell is as fine a judge as can be had. She’s well-versed in Trump stuff. Since everything was sealed, I’ll trust she had a good reason to deny DOJ’s request. I’m still disappointed, though. I think it does demonstrate why DOJ must proceed with caution and care in this case. ---
