> Today we went to the [Spark Museum of Electrical Invention](https://www.sparkmuseum.org). Very cool! I finally got to play with a [theremin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theremin). 🆒

> I was thinking we’d go to [Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro](https://www.bbaybrewery.com/boundary) for dinner, but we didn’t. Next door to the museum is a Cajun-style restaurant called [Bayou On Bay](http://bayouonbay.com). A look at their menu revealed they serve [Vieux Carré](https://www.chowhound.com/recipes/vieux-carre-11620)s, and that sold me on the spot. Making an effort to stay low(ish)-carb, I had a rare, blackened rib-eye steak with baby broccoli and collard greens. Both the veg had caramelised onions so they were carby, but good. Mrs. L.A. had shrimp and grits. I had a taste, and _boy_ was it good! She was impressed too. I started with fried oysters, which were very good. Mrs. L.A. had crab cakes that were rather bland. We both had two Vieux Carrés. I think I’ll go to Bevmo! to get the stuff to make them at home.

> Good day. 🙂

I reheated my steak and collard greens for dinner. I used the toaster oven, and I added some salt and the Cajun seasoning I always have on-hand when I re-heated it. It was good Saturday, and much improved by the spices.

If you’re interested in the Cajun rub:

1 tsp cumin seed (ground)
2 tsp dried basil
2 tsp dried oregano
2 tsp dried thyme
2 TBSP chilli powder
Big pinch pepper
Big pinch salt

Of course I always multiply the recipe, for situations like wanting some on a steak. 😉
