My sister is preparing a birthday card for a co-worker. The co-worker is new to the office but is very funny and outgoing and her and my sister get along great. Give me something brilliant to tell her to write in the card, my brain is mushy this morning… ---

I wrote: “I know we’ve just met, but already I feel I’ve known you for days. Happy Birthday”. Not brilliant, but I thought it was funny at the time. ---

Get her a kiddie card and modify the number on the front to the appropriate age. For example, if she’s turning 29, get one of those “You’re 2!” cards, and write a “9” in marker after the “2”. The sillier/more childish the motif the better. (Teddy bears with drums or balloons, fairies with wings, unicorns, etc.) ---

The funniest thing I can think of writing in a greeting card (a blank greeting card) is, “So sorry to hear about your allergy to paper products.” That doesn’t seem appropriate for the situation, though. I like **Alice the Goon** ’s suggestion. What birthday is your sister’s co-worker celebrating (or mourning)? ---

Take a piece of ordinary white 8.5 x 11 paper. Fold it in half. On the front, write: _Times are tough Things are hard_ On the inside, write: _Here’s your cheap-ass birthday card._
