Thanks for all the welcoming back everyone! Iā€™m not sure if Iā€™ll be a regular poster here again, I was having a bad day and this was just testing the waters. I feel better now and Iā€™m trying to get used to the idea that facebook is an unhealthy habit. Each urge to share a photo, or something funny I saw on reddit, or a ā€˜profoundā€™ or amusing thought, has to be met with telling myself ā€œYou donā€™t need to share it, keep it to yourself, sharing isnā€™t all itā€™s cracked up to beā€ I brought Pork Pie, and Bakewell Tart but I donā€™t know how to transfer them electronically so I will have to eat them myself! Hey man, long time no see. Iā€™m sort of a returning refugee myself. After getting fired in Jan '19, I drifted a bit. I had to move, alone, to another city for work, and come back to my wife and kids on the weekend. When that office cut everyoneā€™s pay after about 6 months, I looked for a way to return, because that just wasnā€™t economically feasible. Fortunately, I found a new job closer to home than I have ever worked in my life. The pay is comparable, the benefits are great, and itā€™s surprisingly easy to get this job done from home. So Iā€™m back in a much better mindspace now, and thought Iā€™d peek back at the board. Howdy yā€™all. What up. ---

Unpleasant as it might be, the self-outing of racists and assholes on Facebook is actually turning out to be one of its greatest pluses. I already didnā€™t fully trust or much care for most of these people and now I know exactly why. ---

I feel your Facebook pain, **Lobsang**. I have unfollowed and unfriended A LOT of people (many of them related to me) since 2016. It maks for a skimpy FB feed. I can watch only so many cute cat and dog videos, ya know? But as **DCinDC** said, it has allowed those people to reveal their true selves to me. Itā€™s been disheartening to discover that my entire family is a bunch of bigoted, narrrow-minded racists.
