# Feet. Do you really care?

Right now there is a shoes-in-the-house thread, a PITA thread, Tarantino vs Uma Thurman’s feet, and who knows what other threads that mention the attractiveness of feet. I’ve heard umpty-ump women complain about the attractiveness of their feet and/or ankles.
All this just leaves me gape-mouthed. So what? Who cares? Feet are just the things at the end of your legs that keep you from falling over. Now I can see the attractiveness of a well-shaped butt, the convex curves of a breast, the soft skin of the inner thigh as it leads upward to the gently curling… erk… umm… never mind all that.
Anyway. Feet (and ankles, I guess): Do you care?

Uma Thurmann’s feet are nasty. I’d have a hard time looking at her with her shoes off. Beyond that it’s not a huge deal, just freakish looking feet are a bit off putting.

I hate my feet. They’re long and skinny and I have long toes. My husband said I could swing from a tree with my toes.

I guess I don’t really care that much. I mean, if I could, I’d trade my own feet in for the next larger size, but of all the crosses I bear, that’s the one that would most comfortably hang from a chain around my neck. My wife occasionally complains about her feet, but I’m all like, “Yes, dear, whatever you say, dear” about that.

I’m sorry, but Uma Thurman does have ugly feet.
I like women’s feet, but men’s feet are usually rather ugly. I think nearly any body part could be beautiful, though. I have pretty feet, or I did before I started going barefoot so much.

Within a very wide range, it doesn’t matter a bit to me and lots of other stuff does. I dodn’t understand why some women get pedicures so much. It seems like a pretty useless service to me. If there are any really issues, see a podiatrist otherwise just snip and be done with it. Between the shoes, pedicures, and foot binding in some places, I am not sure what is up with women and feet.

Here’s a [pic of her hands](http://www.mcmuffin.co.uk/mr_and_mrs_mcmuffin/images/uma.jpg), I’m not sure if that’s real but it’s close even if it’s exaggerated. Her feet are similar.
If you want a close up watch whichever Kill Bill (Vol I or II?) that has her coming out of a coma. That scene is a paean to her footsies.

A friend of mine was in an accident and lost one leg from the knee down, but they were able to save the foot.

I think all the foot fetishists out there would disagree mightily with you!
I think feet are just like anything else upon which we base our attractiveness on. Think of the scene from “Boomerang” where Eddie Murphy sleeps with a very attractive woman - but her ugly feet cause him to drop her. Silly, but some people are that shallow.
Think about Chineses [foot binding](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foot_binding). Small feet were seen as treasured and desired, leading to hundreds of years of women binding the feet of thier daughters, causing atrophy, infections, and extremely deformed feet.
ETA: I remember the scene from Kill Bill, and I didn’t think Uma’s feet were nasty at all. There were pretty cool.

Uma Thurman’s feet look pretty much like what they are: the feet of a six foot tall woman. They just look kind of big-boned and ungainly.

A tall, slim woman like Uma has long, slim feet? What’s remarkable about that? She probably has to look far and wide for shoes, but that doesn’t mean ugly to me. I wonder if she ever played piano. She could reach some chords with those fingers that the rest of us could only dream of.
When I dream of Uma, she is not playing the piano.

I spent high school en pointe, then the next 10 years running 10K races. I treated my feet horribly- I’m lucky that all 10 toenails grew back. During the time I was so physically active, sandals were not an option, and trips to the swimming pool were cringe-worthy. But now I’m grateful to have very pretty feet, and keep my toes manicured and wear sandals and sexy shoes year round. And I get compliments on my toes almost daily- I was under the impression that most men _do_ notice nice feet. No?
