It’s 3 AM, I just read Mongol’s post to Opal, and I misread his username as Feistymongrel. I read that entire post with the mental image of a Yorkshire Terrier nipping at my ankles. It fits. What a completely idiotic series of comments. Mongol, have you ever met a white person? You’re not white, so you’re not subject to the daily life or experiences of a white per… oh, I can’t even finish it, the stupiditity is hurting my braaaaain. Okay. Okay. Enlighten us, Mongol. Shed some light on the unique experience of being asian. What makes it so hard? Is it harder than the oppression I get from working in a predominantly puerto rican office? Is it worse than being female in a male dominated world? What must someone who lives in American do, if they were born with ancestors from an asian country, in order not to be a banana, in your opinion? What must someone who lives in America do, if they were born of non-asian ancestors, to properly understand and respect asian people? Is it more or less than we must do for everyone else? Is it different in a unique way? Who are you? What do you want? Where are you going? ---

Sorry, but in my neighborhood, whites are a minority. Most of my friends are of another race, many are from other countries. In fact… of the people I currently hang out with, only one was born in the US. And one of them was born in (gasp!) mainland China. I’ve known plenty of Asian people over the years. The destruction wrought from white nations in history Nazi Regime -estimated 10-15 million total died in Germany alone (including 6 million jews and soldiers/civillians through conflicts) Stalin’s communist era estimated 61 million dead under Stalinist rule and the resulting communist regimes. Destruction of Vietnam 1-2 million mostly civillians. Bombing villages and civillian cities. America kept running military death tallies as “proof” that they were winning the war. The continent of Africa - Possibly 100 million or more people dead throughout its wretched history as a result of colonial contact with europeans. Different policies throughout the ages and divide/conquer colonial policies have resulted in the deaths of countless others. Aztecs - Entire civilization and people wiped off the map. No estimation on figures. Possibly millions. Phillipine islands - Early imperialist policies resulting in the slaughter of Filipino native forces who resisted U.S. occupation. No exact figure on number massacred. China- Opium wars and colonialist invasion with the resulting famines. Possibly millions dead as a result of British policies. South America- Untold number of civilizations and indians plundered and wiped out. Native Americans - It was estimated there were 7 million native americans scattered throughout the north american continent before european arrival. Now there’s maybe a few thousand traceable native americans left. Aborigines in Australia - Tens of thousands murdered, untold number of Maori tribesman killed too. The Middle east - Early colonialist policies were designed to fracture the delicate politics and relations of the people in the mid east. All this was done so early colonialists could plunder oil and enforce unfair treaties. Untold numbers dead or suffering to this day because of it. The hasty drawn borders in the mid-east and the resulting conflicts can be directly blamed on white expansion. ---
