Never have attended a DopeFest. It’s tempting, but the times have yet to be good for me, and I’m NO good with crowds of people. I have met some Andrew Lloyd Webber Net people over the years. Usually they want me to walk them down to Footlight Records on 12th St. For some reason, non-NYCers are hesitant about walking below 40th Street all by themselves. A London lady I met this way has become one of my best friends. I have a German e-friend in the theatre I’ve been e-mailing for over 5 years, and have yet to meet. ---

There are people I’ve met from the Internet, and people I would love to meet from the Internet. I went to one medium sized Upper West Side DopeFest, where I was temporarily blinded by **Geobabe** ’s cleavage. Who knew she carries a small portable spotlight so nobody misses a single inch of revealed skin? 😃 I’m not going to attend any more I think, having caused a lot of bad blood in the Pit threads a few months back. My loss, I think. There’s a Doper I dearly want to meet, and will bide my time too. I am not patient, but I’m learning. 😉 Cartooniverse ---

I’m not overly interested in meeting any Dopers online. I’m sure you’re all great people, but I’ll probably never know. The idea of a Dope metting has no appeal to me. I’ve been to things like this before (back in my BBS days) and realized that I hardly ever met anyone at these things - I just saw a lot of people who felt they had to be “on” all the time to keep in step with their online personas. Even when there wasn’t alcohol involved it still seemed like a “look at me!” contest. If there was alcohol involved, I couldn’t get away fast enough, as things got even worse. I’m not a party person. In fact, I hate them. I feel overwhelmingly uncomfortable at parties, even when I am friends with and like every person in the room. I just can’t deal with a group of people over a certain number.
