I listen to various radio shows like The Love Line, Howard Stern, Tom Leykis, The John and Jeff Show … and it’s now starting to take off on TV shows, too, i.e. this trend of women saying they’re into chicks as much as they’re into guys.

It’s almost now a given, I would think, that at least 70% of all women are turned on by women; and no one seems to think it’s the least bit weird. And from the way those radio people carry on about it, it would seem that most guys are really alright with it, too.

Stern thinks it’s so hot that he encourages his female guests to kiss and fondle each other on his program, and more often than not they jump at the chance.

But I wonder about those of you ladies that are into this, or think it’s perfectly fine, if you’d be okay with us dudes (actually, NOT me) were to follow the distaff and, you know, just kinda hug and kiss each other … and just basically being sophisticated enough to let the world know that doing each other is really where it’s at? Huh?

Ahh yes radio talk shows, clearly the place to turn to to get a realistic idea of human behavior models.

Yes, women find two men together sexy. Why shouldn’t we?

This was initially posted in the forum called Cafe Society, which is dedicated to arts and entertainment. While I’m sure that bisexuality might possibly be entertaining, you’ll get a better discussion in IMHO forum, and hence I’m moving it thence.

In my experience, men are a lot more interested in bisexual women than vice versa. But it could be that it was just less socially acceptable for women to be into that, although I think that is changing.

I have no problem with two guys (or more) cuddling or kissing or showing affection in public/on the radio/wherever. My teenage years were full of man on man action. And man-turned-woman who dated men action. And man-turned-woman who dated women action. And a little girl on girl action, too. And a couple of man on woman action, but that was just _weird_.

Born bi, married straight female, here.

There was a [rather interesting thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=328246) about this two months ago, though it had a much more distinctly porn-oriented feel. My general experience is that most females have markedly fewer problems with it than males of equivalent social/educational/etc situations, but that’s anecdotal.

Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything, Lou. 14% of people know that.

_SOME_ women might, but not by any means _all_, which is what you’re implying. I personally find it unappealing.
As to the OP, maybe Hollywood starlets or spoiled debutantes are into the bi scene more lately than in the past. But if you asked middle-class, regular women in their 30’s such as myself, not so much. I’m not into it, and very few of my friends are into it. I think the media’s portraying it to be much more common than it is.

I hate to say it, but people had that same old lament when I was in high school years ago. And probably when my mom was in high school. The truth is that bi girls exist and always have, but society has always tried to attribute queerness and the “quirks” of women to being a phase or a trend.

</div>

I’m fairly sure that an awful lot of these girls (not all!!) are not so much bisexual as they are open to the idea of fooling around with each other to turn men on. NOte the much lower percentage of women partnered with women(or even interested in relationships with – as opposed to “play” with–women).
[my observations as a bi woman with a female partner]

Because, dude! It’s hot! 😉

Seriously though (and speaking as a college student. . . lots of “bisexual girls” are around), I think it is because most (not all! don’t hurt me!) of the younger girls do it because it gets them attention.

The boys aren’t looking at you? Grab a friend and start making out. If that doesn’t work, rub on her boobs! Plenty of guys will flock and talk about how “Awesome” and “hot” you are.

I, like a good chunk of the female population, can find other females quite attractive. Sure, making out with a girl would be fun, but I am not going to do it at a party or something just to get attention. That’s silly and really, really annoying.

(And now you know reason 9,124,453 that Angelique does not go to college parties).

Heh…whenever I have a profile at an online dating site that requires a headline, I like to use “98% of all statistics are made up.” 🙂

Oh, I’m aware of that. But I’m so tired of hearing the myth that only men like watching two girls, and women are always icked out by two guys. That is so not true-plenty of women, like myself, find it attractive.

There’s also the phenomenon of the LUG {Lesbian Until Graduation}: an, ahem, large percentage of the women I knew at university who publically - and often vociferously - identified as gay or bi mysteriously straightened out when job time rolled around. Not saying that’s true of all lesbian or bi women, of course, but I think for a lot of girls at college the attraction was in doing something rebellious and forbidden, like getting a tattoo or a eyebrow ring.

My philosophy is live and let live. But I’ll add that I really don’t like it that this whole bi-woman thing has gotten so much momentum the way it has over the past, oh, I don’t know, 15-years?

I’m a red-blooded American male and I get chills thinking that if Stern and a lot of these other high-profile talking heads keep it up … then we’ll all just be a bunch of sexual jellyfish losing site of Mother Nature’s plan … and I’ll end up beached somewhere with just me and my hard-on, whilst all the ladies are somewhere else licking on each other and not giving a damn about my desperate situation.

I CAN’T GO BI OR GAY. I JUST CAN’T. 😛
