There is certainly a freak show component, and anything obsessive can be detrimental to a pleasant personality, but playing with your own anatomy is an interesting, if not worthwhile, undertaking. You’ll see the same thing on male bodybuilders and it is why I think contest shape is not a particularly attractive time for anyone. Off-season shape is much more attractive on any bodybuilder, IMO. ---

Bodybuilders, not so much. Fit women, very hot. Lately, I’ve been working with stuff culled from [Crossfit](http://crossfit.com), and there are some very fit people who do workout demonstrations. I don’t think I’ve seen a single one of the regulars I would kick out of bed, and any one of them could kick my ass at the workouts. Not the best picture of her there, but the girl pictured in THURSDAY 070830 is damn cute even if she does have arms that are more ripped than mine. (I was in halfway decent shape already when I found that site. I’d let work and a wedding interfere a little too much with staying in shape, but had gotten back to pretty much where I was before the break. It was still about 4–6 months before I was able to do most of the workouts unmodified. Those people are hardcore. I love it. I’m lifting way more than I was able to before doing their stuff, and progressing faster than when I first got back into weightlifting. Plus, their workouts are more fun than straight weightlifting.) ---

I wonder if they steroids they take screws up their libidos…of course, all those muscles-I wonder if they are good in bed, or not. Male body builders (repotedly) have problesm with orgasming. ---

Of course, their strength and stamina make them amazing in bed. I speak from personal experience. ---

Also, does anyone remember Fitness Beach and Bodyshaping on ESPN about ten years ago? Basically, the shows consisted of various fitness models, including FHM regular Leanne Tweeden exercising mostly in bikinis. Good stuff. ---

Generally, not hot to me. My preference is for a woman who’s healthy, fit and slim, but not with freakishly large, rippling muscles. I’d wonder if she’s been abusing steroids, and if she’ll beat me up when I ask. ---

Yes, hot. And not just bodybuilders, but athletic women in general. The women’s pole vault competition at the recent World Track and Field championships featured my future wife, or at least that’s what I keep telling myself. ---

One vote for “hot”. But it’s like the analogy of “tall men” above – having muscles and good definition, in and of itself, does not make a woman attractive. ---

Body-builders = Not hot = Freakshow Healthy and toned is delicious but any more muscles than you would see on the cover of Shape magazine is disgusting. ---

This one is a “NOT” for which no font large enough exists in nature. Men are unpleasant enough to look at when they come to resemble glistening, freshly-harvested kidneys, but the women are doubly repellent and unnatural-looking. And it’s bad enough being dwarfed by other men at the gym; I don’t need my masculinity further battered by the sight of Amazons outlifting me by an embarrassing margin.
