# Female Dopers! Do you have a bandaid in your purse?

No purse, but I think I have somewhere in the range of 50 million bandaids in my backpack. That thing goes with me to school and a thousand other places, so it is in my best interest to have bandaids. I have a real problem with blisters on my feet.

I’m an incredibly clumsy person, and prone to headaches and knee problems, so my purse has band-aids, Tiger Balm, various painkillers and Salon-Pas patches. But then, I also come from a family of Boy Scouts.

I have all that, plus a couple of one-use bottles of saline eye drops in case of an incident of debris in the eye, lens cloths - they’re like handiwipes for eyeglasses, a 2 oz. bottle of rubbing alcohol (good for ink stains, too), bobby pins, an emergency ponytail holder, a couple of spare earring backs, a travel-sized dental floss, a travel toothbrush and a travel pack of baby wipes.
Oh, and a few hard candies, throat lozenges and gum for sucking/chewing in order to pop my ears on my frequent plane trips.

I carry a full first-aid kit and also a few other handy items, like my Leatherman tool.

Yep. I don’t carry a purse but I have several different sizes in my backpack. And I always have a few in my lab coat pocket because one, I’m a klutz, and two, I work in a hospital that doesn’t want to waste bandages on piffling employees.

Bandaids; Kleenex, talc, anti-itch medication, allergy medication, several different painkillers, lip balm, floss, a tape measure (which I use more often than you might think), an extra watch (in case I forget to put mine on before I go out), a mini-calculator, spare earring backs, a pen, and **safety pins**.
All of these things are there because at some time in the past I did need them and wished I were carrying them with me.

Not in my purse, but I usually have a bandaid in my backpack. Also, I make sure to take a couple when I’m going out in high heels or other blister-inducing footwear.
I take the entire first aid kit when going out to do field work.
Basically, if I’m going very far, I’ll have more than just my purse with me. It’s of the minimalist variety anyway; I can’t stand lugging the huge ones.

I’m also a backpack-carrier, but it does contain a few Hello Kitty band-aids in a special, matching green plastic Hello Kitty container. Mainly because of the blister thing, but also because we frequently can’t find the band-aids in the office.

The only time I will have a band-aid in my bag, is if I have the whole first-aid kit with me. Band-aids belong in the first-aid kit, not my purse. (in my house, anyway) 🙂

I don’t have Band-Aids in either my purse or backpack, but I think I’m going to follow **monster’s** and keep a couple in my car. I try to keep aspirin and saline drops handy. Dry contacts drive me nuts.
