Am I the only guy who is uncomfortable with females I am not close with hugging me? I do that concave chest thing so their boobs don’t moosh into me. Give an awkward double tap on the back hug. Is it just me? ---

Yeah, I never offer a hug and I receive half heartedly, with anyone other than my gf, kids, and extremely close friends. Likewise, I could never receive a “therapeutic massage”. I’ve been given two gift certificates over the years for massages, never redeemed either. ---

I’m fine with it. There have been only a couple exceptions. I will say, though, if somebody communicates that they don’t want a hug, nobody else should be giving them one! ---

It depends mostly on how attractive the female is. ---

I would be a male hugger (I think?) except that too many people would perceive it as invasive and opportunistic and that makes me uncomfy doing it. But I’d go to cuddle parties (prior SDMB clusterfuck thread available upon request), I have no issues being physically close to those I"m attracted to, or those to whom I’m not, and hugging and being skin to skin with them, with or without intervening fabric. I don’t mean to sound all prescriptive about it, like I am therefore you should be too. ---

I’m a hugger by nature - not in a sexual way. And yes I’m fine with hugging guys too. So I’m ok with basically anyone hugging me as long it’s not done in a creepy way. ---

I don’t mind being hugged by a woman, but the reach around and grab my ass and pull me close and leave no doubt what they want, well, that has disrupted more than a few Thanksgiving dinners with my mom’s sisters. ---

My family’s all huggers. We just regard it as normal. When one of my cousins married a woman who wouldn’t hug everyone, I knew it was a warning sign. Sure enough, a few years later, she went full-on psycho. ---

Wasn’t questioning the experience, was questioning his imposition that someone who doesn’t want to hug everybody is psycho. You may want to talk to a rape councilor about why some people dislike hugging strangers, might be enlightening. ---

I understand she didnt like to be hugged but she knew marrying into the family that they were huggers. She had the choice to walk away. I do agree that if anyone knew she hated being hugged that they should not do so. ---
