I removed your link, **commasense** , because it most definitely wasn’t safe for work viewing. Please remember the “two click” rule: don’t link directly to NSFW content; instead, link to a page that then links to the NSFW stuff. Or, absent that, post the link without making it clickable (so users will have to cut-and-paste into their browsers if they want to see what’s behind the link).
Sorry about that. I rarely post such material, and hadn’t recalled the two-click rule.

For those of you chomping at the bit, the site **Johnny L.A.** mentioned is the one I had linked to. Click on Tour, and search for Ms. Sirtis’ full name. The first link that it brings up (scenes from _Blind Date_) is pretty nice.

You can also search for the Faye Dunaway stinker _The Wicked Woman_, wherein Ms Sirtis gets her clothes whipped from her body in public.

Most of the rest of the images on the above-mentioned site are from that film. But they aren’t as good as the _Blind date_ pics. (Unless you’re into that sort of thing.)
I was trying not to give a long delayed spoiler. 🙂 It also involves Spock being dumb for about the only time on the series - and it made me wonder why the hell StarFleet didn’t join AAA.
Um, when is Spock dumb in “The Paradise Syndrome”?

Getting so stuck on Plan A for dealing with the asteroid. Here’s a big chunk of rock which is _months_ away from hitting the planet, and on failing to deflect it at the assigned intercept point, Spock turns the phasers on it and keeps firing over Scotty’s objections until the warp engines are burned out beyond even Scotty’s ability to effect field repairs.

Other options would have included:[ul]Put a tractor beam on the asteroid and apply delta-vee to it at right angles to its present course. The _Enterprise_ has months to pull it onto a course that will miss the planet. A fraction of a metre per second squared would be quite enough.
[li]Let the phasers and engines cool down before firing again. Then hit it with a full spread of photon torpedoes at the same time.[/li][li]Find a smaller asteroid and tow it with a tractor beam until it is travelling at a serious speed on collision course with the big asteroid.[/li][li]Drill a hole in the asteroid at right angles to its direction of travel. Drop several kilos of antimatter down the hole. If the resulting explosion doesn’t destroy the asteroid, the impulse should kick it off its collision course.[/li][li]Give up the asteroid as a bad job and return to the planet. Investigate the obelisk which is an obvious anomaly, using on-the-spot study instead of poring over photographs. As long as you have months to solve the problem, you might as well do it on site rather than drifting as a helpless hulk a few minutes ahead of the killer asteroid.[/ul][/li]
And if a lunkhead like me can come up with alternatives like this, Spock’s Vulcan-trained brain should have evaluated them all plus many more on the way to the intercept point.

Well the script was written by emotional humans, so Spock can be forgiven for the poorly thought-out writing.

Yes, it was a plot device, but it was certainly out of character. It would have been better to have had an off screen brush with a Romulan or Klingon ship that damaged the warp engines. 🙂
