Two separate crowds, each estimated at about 2,000 people, held demonstrations tonight in Ferguson with no reports of violence. The police were right and acting right all along, so when the ONLY overt change is in police tactics, it must be because SOMETHING mysterious must have happened to the protestors? **Leaper** , please correct me if I’m wrong. Wasn’t at least one molotov cocktail thrown at police? Weren’t stores and gas stations looted and burned? Weren’t there threats made against the lives of Ferguson police officers? Wasn’t a shotgun wielding protestor shot for pointing a gun at police officers? ---

…here is raw footage of the Al Jazeera crew getting hit by tear gas, then having their gear inspected, and some other videographers getting moved on. Bricker: I haven’t done the full kit: but it is pretty easy to put my laptop away with one hand and hold a camera phone absolutely steadily with the other. I was surprised. I’ll try and find time to do the whole kit this evening, but I don’t really think I need too. Just try it yourself. And it looks like the good cops have taken over from the bad cops. Looks like Ferguson has had their “Lt. Gen. Russel Honore” take over the show, and his name is Captain Ronald Johnson. The sight of a policeman hugging the protesters and not pointing a sniper rifle is sure to upset a few people in this thread: but for others it couldn’t have come a moment sooner. ---

In fact, let’s remove the qualifiers and try to find incidents of black cops shooting unarmed white perps. I tried googling, really nothing much out there. The “Gil Collar” incident, maybe, and that looked justified to me. ---
