I had it for most of my junior high years, and I’m embarrassed to admit, it even made a comeback my senior year. I can’t be the only one. Guys, girls. Don’t let me down. I have to admit it because my senior picture is sporting not only a mullet but a bleach blonde mullet. It was the easiest hairstyle I ever had the pleasure of taking care of. I also think it looks rediculous on 30-something moms like myself. (And unfortunately I HAVE seen this very thing.) I did not know there was a name for such a do. Thank you for sharing. 😛 ---

It’s also known as “Hockey Hair,” though I prefer “mullet.” And I think every guy who wasn’t sporting a proper preppie 'do was wearing a mullet when I was in high school. ::shudders:: ---

If you have a mullet, you’re supposed to drive a Camaro. BTW, I saw an Abbott and Costello lesbian pair sporting mullets the other day. –Tim ---

I had a mullet when I was 8. I wanted to look like Roxette, ya know, the song from Pretty Woman, “It Must Have Been Love, but it’s over know…must have been good, but I lost it somehow.” She had a bleached blonde mullet, spiky on top. Mine was light brown. MY goodness. All the pictures have been destroyed, so if anyone asks, it NEVER happened! ---

To go along with the Camaro as absolutely necessary accesories to the Mullet --called guido hair in my high school (we were not politically correct, so sue us)-- a muscle tee and a pack of Marlboros. ---

Newp. Mine was ALL short … half an inch long on top at the longest, and maybe a total of an inch long in back, cut in defiance of my monst-- er, mother always demanding the stylist to cut it her way. First time the monster turned her back, I hacked it all off. ---

My mom made me get one in ninth grade (1985). It was part of her campaign to make me unattractive, so guys wouldn’t like me and I wouldn’t get pregnant. I finally went to a salon in the mall and got a **short** cut: up to the hairline in back and on the sides, with some length on top to spike. She blew a gasket, of course, but there was nothing she could do. Thank you, Hair Performers.
