Fictional events that eventually become reality? (Read the OP.)

Turns out you can dust for vomit!

Justice for drummers!

Agreed. They never said they flew it into space.

We live in an age in which there are increasing numbers of assertions for which the only truly accurate description is “bullshit” in the Harry G. Frankfurt sense. We haven’t seen the like since the great age of totalitarian propaganda in the 1930s.

Oh, there’s never been a lack of commenters calling a government statement “Bullshit”. I’m talking about the government statements themselves using such language.

From the Desk of the President of the United States:

Dear Sirs, please quit your bullshit.

                Signed, President Fucknuts.

The Sarah Siddons Award was invented for All About Eve, but two years later it became a real award given to the best actors and actresses in Chicago theater.

It is interesting that all that is “only circumstantial evidence” , long derided in many TV shows and the media. But of course that sort of evidence is better than eyewitness testimony. Erin Reagan used to fight hard every few episodes to get a witness to testify, saying they’d have to drop the case unless they got some poor frightened person to get on the stands.

Yeah, it’s happened so many times on the “Law & Order” franchises that every time the investigating detectives or assistant D.A. promise a witness anonymity, I yell “BULLSHIT!” at the screen.

Yep, for a line up, it can be anonymous- sometimes, but not to testify.- unless maybe sometimes for a grand Jury.

This weekend ESPNews is ESPN8: The Ocho, and it’s showing dodgeball games.
