Yeah, a Hobbes plushie would be nice. According to Wiki Watterson did Okay two calendars and a educational book called “Teaching with Calvin and Hobbes”.

> _If there’s one iconic food from the Calvin and Hobbes comics, it’s Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs. Calvin eats three bowls every Saturday for breakfast, and it’s hinted throughout the comics that it could be linked to his hyperactivity and short attention span. With its astronomical sugar and caffeine content, this is one intense cereal, and Calvin scoops on EXTRA sugar to boot! The C&H comics that feature Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs are some of my favorites, so of course I chose it as the dessert for our menu._

The OG Cocoa Puffs may qualify as closest in real cereals, but General Mills has changed the recipe

I had the calendars. They were great for my office wall.

I agree on the Hobbes plushie. I do have a stuffed tiger that my wife bought as a souvenir of a trip to the zoo, but it’s not Hobbes.

I searched- Amazon has _Attatoy Regit the Plush Tiger Toy, 17-Inch Tall Striped Sitting Tiger Stuffed Animal_

and Etsy says they have them, named Hobbes- and looking like that tiger.

I have to agree that it’s a pretty good version. Slap Hobbes’ name on it and give Mr. Watterson a few million dollars. I don’t see anything unseemly about that.

After _Metalocalypse_ became a hit on Adult Swim, Brendon Small actually put together a live band and has done several tours as Dethklok, singing and playing lead guitar alongside a second guitarist, bassist, and drummer, with animated music videos on a big screen and clips of the band’s fictional members in between songs. I saw them live twice and it was a lot of fun.

Patrick Rothfuss’s _Kingkiller Chronicle_ describes a fictional board game called Tak, although not in any great detail. Later, Rothfuss and James Ernest fleshed out the rules to make it a real game. You can buy physical tak sets, or play online. The [US Tak Association](https://ustak.org) sponsors online tournaments.

The series which will never be finished, despite the fact Rothfuss already got paid a large advance for the third book. pisses me off.

Edgar Rice Burroughs also published rules for the Martian chess game that shows up in one of the John Carter rules. But the game sucks. It’s really easy to force a draw, and if you’re so testosterone-poisoned that you refuse to accept a draw (like, say, most Barsoomians), then any player who is willing to accept a draw will easily beat you.

I thought he already had the band, and they were just doing the music used within the show, then chose to actually go on tour, release albums, etc… due to the popularity of the show.

I’ve seen two versions of the Star Trek original series 3D multi-board chess set - I had one from a garage sale many years ago, wasn’t a very good game beyond the novelty, or at least those invented rules weren’t. Tak on the other hand is quite a nice abstract strategy game, but then James Ernest is a heck of a good game designer.

One of the plot lines in _Quantumania_ was that Scott Lang aka Ant-Man had cashed in after the events of _Endgame_ by writing an autobiography titled _Look Out for the Little Guy!_. A few months later, the book was actually released.

Which reminds me: on _Jane the Virgin_, Jane Villanueva spends most of Season 3 writing a novel titled _Snow Falling_. It was published in real life during Season 4, as ghostwritten by Caridad Piñero.
