FIFA Officials Arrested On Corruption Charges

Take it up with madsircool.

Normally when someone makes a joke that bad, people say “Don’t quit your day job”.

That’s a funny joke. I doubt the joke failed with the fans. The joke only backfired because Blatter is still very much in charge of FIFA, and making decision as to who can work there.

Walter De Gregorio tells a joke. This joke has a lot of truth to it. Considering the situation, only Blatter, or a Blatter supporter/accomplice, would ask De Gregorio to stand down/resign.

It is understood De Gregorio was asked to stand down by Blatter, who himself announced earlier this month he would be resigning as Fifa president after a new election. Blatter’s decision follows the arrest of seven leading Fifa officials as part of an FBI corruption investigation. There appears to have been significant tension between De Gregorio and Klaus J Stohlker, a PR professional utilised on an ad-hoc basis by Blatter.

The sooner that Blatter leaves, the faster FIFA will heal. The longer Blatter stays, the more entrenched the Blatter-types will become, and the cover ups will continue.

The new election is still some six to 10 months away. That’s a very long time.

Not so fast. Blatter is reconsidering his resignation.

Will he need FIFA Congress approval to do so?

Maybe they can bribe him to leave.

Who could possibly see the problem in electing a man who is named like a Waffen SS officer and runs FIFA like his own fiefdom??

Seriously, the sponsors here have most of the power because they have the money. Directly and indirectly. They can refuse to sponsor FIFA and refuse to buy ads on FIFA sponsored tournaments.

I’m glad Blatter is reconsidering his hasty decision to resign from FIFA. Snort.
Seriously, some European Football association needs to announce the 2022 World Soccer Championship ™, and make inquiries about possible locations. Here’s the twist: hold it in the summer at a locale with temperatures cooler than 100 degrees F. I know: wild idea.

I respect FIFA’s decision to move the World Cup to the Winter. Snort2. I think they should go through with their 2022 Dubai plan, showcasing such powerhouse countries such as the Caymen Islands and New Guinna. Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Italy can play in the summer outside of the FIFA framework.

With the instability in the region (ISIS) who even knows if there will be a Qatar in 2022?
