Strengthening the defense probably makes sense for Japan. For a while Brazil were threatening to run away with the game with a flurry of goals and stopping that is the top priority for Japan. If Japan can slow the tempo of the game, get Brazil pushing too hard for that winning goal, they may get their own big opportunity on the break. ---
