That Norway offside goal was so obvious that I called it immediately as I watched. I think the ass’t refs are being a bit too overcautious. I know they’re supposed to let the play continue if it’s close, but this one wasn’t. ---

My wife suggested that Balogun should refuse to play, to keep the integrity of the game intact (since that depends on refs being the arbiters on the field, even when they make a questionable call). Shame on FIFA for giving in. I’d have said the same if it were, say, Biden who asked for the change. I don’t faint Trump for this — it’s all on FIFA. That would be a brave move! ---
