Another player fell close to the half moon, but they did not show it clearly enough to be able to tell whether that was a foul or not. In any case it would not have been a foul on the player with the ball, but a foul is a foul, so it coud have been given. _If_ it was a foul and clear enough for VAR to intervene. ---

Second time in a row Argentina’s beaten an underdog team 3-2 in a game it was at real risk of losing. At this rate, I think Colombia will thrash Argentina in Kansas City. ---

If Argentina win the whole thing it’ll be like a 5.2 - 0.4 xG game where France just shells them for 90, but Messi scores a 25 yard free kick to win 1-0. **ETA** Or the same 1-0 but where Spain has 1500 passes and 3 shots. ---

Mrs Mollusc is Argentine and I am from England, this is getting dangerously close to an ARG ENG semi final. Neither of us are particularly fussed normally about football, but world cups do strange things to Argentines. For the sake of household harmony I am going to have to root for Norway. ---
