That was the most exciting match I’ve seen yet - and it meant nothing. I feel a little guilty for rooting against my home country - but only a little. (And, yes I’m probably pulling for Bosnia-Herzegovina). ---

Just got back home from the Japan game. One interesting thing that caught my attention was that a whole lot of Japan fans at the stadium, clad in Japan blue, weren’t Asian at all; they were white, black or Hispanic. Barring a highly unlikely outcome like Japan whipping Sweden by many goals, it was going to be Japan vs Brazil one way or another. I saw one Japanese Redditor complaining how Japan always gets tough draws while Korea gets dealt easier hands every time, and he may have some point. ---

The game against Brazil will be aired Tuesday at 2:00 am, and my son and I will watch it. I’ll have to tell him to keep it down so our downstairs neighbors won’t complain.
