frodo? are you okay?
FRODO LIVES!!!
Another player fell close to the half moon, but they did not show it clearly enough to be able to tell whether that was a foul or not. In any case it would not have been a foul on the player with the ball, but a foul is a foul, so it coud have been given. If it was a foul and clear enough for VAR to intervene.
Messi openly weeping. Doesn’t want it to end.
I was resigned to the loss, thinking, like EinsteinHund that at least I would stop having to be so nervous
And then these bastards go and do this to me? What do I do with these emotions now?
Second time in a row Argentina’s beaten an underdog team 3-2 in a game it was at real risk of losing. At this rate, I think Colombia will thrash Argentina in Kansas City.
take on the world, frodo!
Argentina are gonna win the whole thing. It is written.
Put them in a pensieve, what else?
What do you mean, wrong book?
If Argentina win the whole thing it’ll be like a 5.2 - 0.4 xG game where France just shells them for 90, but Messi scores a 25 yard free kick to win 1-0.
ETA Or the same 1-0 but where Spain has 1500 passes and 3 shots.
We don’t care, to be honest, he had to have something he was not perfect at, to better pass as human.
Ok, my son went to his room and you turned the TV on at that moment, so both of you know what to do.
As for that imbecile in the pink house… We’ll give it our all, the rational people, but there may not be enough of us.
Nope, still hate it, will gladly take what VAR gives but still think it’s not worth it.
If we lost this game without VAR then we lost it, it sucks but that’s football, not VARball.
TBH I like seeing the champions work for it. Easy walks are boring.
It also elevates the challengers, no question they belonged there.

OK, thanks. That’s what I thought (and confirmed by @iamatractorboy).
No political jabs in the Game Room! ![]()
Shame either team had to lose.
Mrs Mollusc is Argentine and I am from England, this is getting dangerously close to an ARG ENG semi final. Neither of us are particularly fussed normally about football, but world cups do strange things to Argentines.
For the sake of household harmony I am going to have to root for Norway.
Lotta hate on Bluesky for the officiating in this game. I couldn’t watch so have no opinion, but this comment is too good not to share:
“I’m not saying this game was stolen from Egypt, but it’s now on display in a museum in London.”
