FIFA World Cup 2026 - discussion etc

I understood that reference.

ARG free kick gets played to Messi, who gets it to a player at the endline who cuts it back into the middle, shot wide, corner to ARG.

+5 to play.

lol 5 minutes, It’s so rigged.

Free kick Spain.

+5 which really means like + 6 and a half if it looks like it may tie

Does a futbol player ever fall to the ground without feigning that he was shot in the head?

No.

Spain wins!

I’m feeling bad for Frodo, but OTOH I never saw a more deserved win.

1-0 Spain!

Lo siento, Frodo.

Yeah, great game Frodo, but now Trump gets to hand the trophy to Spain. He loves Spain!

I’m sorry for Messi but the rest of this Argentina side can get fucked. Horrible team, horrible players.

No joy in the Shire tonight

All my teams have now lost in this world cup. Ah well, on the positive side, I have no desire to see the trophy ceremony and hey Mbappé go the record for the most goals. Argentina won last time, so Messi got one regadless.

A more than well deserved win by Spain, I knew they were good, but didn’t really know they where THIS good.
Proud of our team for taking them to the extra time, but it was too much to ask even of them to win against such a rival.
I’m happy that now Trump will have to give the trophy to Spain which has been a thorn on his disgusting orange backside lately.
This is the lest sad I’ve ever been on an Argentina defeat to be honest.
Also Spain plays the kind of football that we like, somehow when defeated by other styles I feel a sort of anger, like they were cheating or something, not this time.

Just saw some very ugly scenes from after the end of the game of one Argentinian player pushing and wrestling a Spanish player to the ground, very aggressively. That’s really uncalled for.

I would LOVE to be a fly in the wall at the VIP Booth right now with the Orange Thing and Mafiantino on one side and Prime Minister Sánchez on the other representing the winning team :smiling_face_with_horns:

That was a very Spanish win, just progressively putting more and more pressure on the defense until they find a crack. And they had chances to double it up too, if they had been a little more clinical on the break.

Argentina did a good job to stick with them, but it’s hard to win with no shots on goal.

We had one or two in the desperate charge at the end, but you are right.

Yeah, they all went hard today. But the lack of shots hurt. Well earned for Spain.
