Wow. Yeah, they are outplaying Brazil.
This is a bit of a sidetrack now, but since you ask. The normal bet will remain for 90 minutes only, (ET and penalties will be ignored) There will probably be another bet “to qualify” that will take into account ET and penalties. “To score at any time” type bets will only refer to normal time unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Bayern are currently in negotations with Saibari, I suspect that’s gonna up the price.
Brazil looks like a very weak team.
Having said that, they just scored while I typed that.
The equalizer came out of nowhere and was not deserved.
Regardless of the holes in the lineup, Vini and Raphina are probably 2 of the top 4 wingers in the world.
And…Ancelotti-ball taketh away, and then giveth.
Give Vini Jr that much space, and…
Unfortunately for Brazil those holes appear to be in the centre of the pitch.
This is what I was going to say. One can still place a ‘draw’ bet on a knockout game and win that bet if it’s tied after 90 minutes.
Yeah, which is why I don’t think they’re a threat to win the tournament.
That was a helluva shot and also a helluva save.
Holden is being kind there, that’s at least a yellow and borderline red on Hakimi that went uncalled.
What are the flopping rules in soccer? Are there penalties for over-acting?
NBA has pushed the flopping so far, it needs a major rule revision. I like the Pistons, but watching the finals this year, there is one player who just flops constantly.
You can get a yellow card for simulating.
For an obvious flop, a player gets a yellow.
My mistake. Thanks for correcting it.
Brazil has been underwhelming, especially for the first 35 minutes. But they are currently playing better than Morocco. Choppy game.
Surprised Qatar tied Switzerland. But all the better for Canada. I didn’t see the game, and it sounds like I did not miss that much.
If the referee deems you dived then you get a yellow card for simulation. And before the introduction of video assistant referees, over time if you received a reputation for being a repeat offender it can become a boy-who-cries-wolf scenario where a player legitimately fouled doesn’t get the call. VAR gets a lot of criticism and fairly but rooting out simulation has been effective in the penalty box but it doesn’t get involved outside the box typically until this “mistaken identity” check brought in for the World Cup.
I have a saying that “there is no player who runs harder than a dispossessed winger”, but Vini Jr makes even that a lie. That guy does like to jog around.
I feel like the powers-that-be got pretty fortunate with that mistaken identity in the USA match, so early in the World Cup. They couldn’t have asked for a better example where the ref carded the defender and replay showed a completely clear dive. I’m sure there will be VAR controversies ahead but that one was pretty straightforward.
The main problem with VAR when you come off the back of the club season in England is it was brought in by their own statement to correct “clear and obvious” errors but there is just in fact a lack of clarity of what they see their role as. Sometimes they will try to re-referee situations by looking at an incident for 5 minutes over and over which tells you it can’t be that clear and obvious if it takes that long, but other times they refuse to intervene at all when the on-field call is dubious.
