I swore before the WC that I wouldn’t stay up late into the night for games, but this I had to watch because it’s our group. Will be gone in 20 minutes.
ETA: I’m long retired and I’m a night owl anyway, so this really isn’t a big concern.
And if they drew and stole points from each other, Germany would be practically through in the group with that many goals.
So that’s the first time I’ve seen that. Ayari scored against Tunisia, for Sweden. But refused to celebrate (apparently) as his mother is Tunisian.
Thats fairly common in club matches when a player won’t celebrate scoring against their former club. But I’ve not seen in an international match before.
I actually think Turkiye comes from behind (points-wise) and wins the group with 6 points. Yes, that means I think they’ll beat USMNT (and also roll over Paraguay by 4 or 5 goals).
Yes, but its inventor was Electric Light Orchestra, thus it actually is an acronym.
Who Knew?
I didn’t even notice that. But that is quite odd. I need to go look at a replay now. I’d think that, strictly speaking, it would be a “referee’s discretion” kinda thing by the laws, but FIFA folks way above the ref generally control things like that.
